I would NOT recommend Dr. Austin to anyone seeking an empathetic doctor with an understanding of mental health conditions. I have never felt more belittled by a medical professional.

Called to make appointment for my sick Mom at 10 o'clock who is their patient was told they would call back to schedule appointment or do a virtual appointment after a second call finally called to say go to urgent care by this time it is 3 oclock. Do NOT recommend.

I have found Dr. Austin to be rushed and not at all personable. I was with her less than 5 minutes and was charged for a level 4 office visit. (184.00) Her physical examination took less than a minute. This happens each visit, every 6 months. The distressing thing is she usually has a medical student with her, showing them how to practice medicine, I suppose. I’ve looked for notes on “my chart” after my visits, only to find a generic page on nutrition.

Im a new resident to South Carolina. Seeking a good doctor!!! Dr.Austin ( my opinion) is impatient and emotionally unavailable to establish a rapport with a patient. Condescending attitude with sterile behavior undertone. A 10 min conversation doesn't constitute "Establishing a new patient rapport". Not my cup tea! And yet, I gave her a second chance (thinking maybe we just had a bad first impression) Nope...same! Will not be returning.

In my opinion Dr. Amanda Austin seems to be one of those physicians that lets revenue and the pressure of minimizing patient contact time interfere with basic care like listening to patients and discussing options. My experience with her was rushed. Also I told Dr. Austin about previous diagnoses I had and in her notes she claimed she had diagnosed me and then billed me extra. I can't in good conscience recommend her to others seeking thorough care.

I have seen Dr Austin for routine follow up as well as specific diseases. SHe has been thorough, friendly, and competent. Spends an appropriate amount of time for what is needed. MY husband, who is a Cardiologist recently saw her for the first time. HE cannot say enough good about her. he says she is bright and has an excellent depth of medical knowledge. W are both very pleased with her.
