Patel Hersh Md's Online Review Report Card

Hersh Patel MD, MBA is one of the very best doctors I've ever met. He is consistently kind, compassionate, open-minded, and team-oriented. Dr. Patel listens, understands, and really cares! Though he's a pain specialist, he's also the only one of my physicians to recommend I have a "cyst" looked at as it might be skin cancer. It was. Dr. Patel caught what my primary missed! Dr. Patel is also the most trauma-informed provider I have encountered. He understands the neurophysiological component of trauma, PTSD, and pain. His conscientiousness is unparallelled. This is an exceptional doctor, and I will always be grateful for his care.

Phenomenal doctor. I wish he was my primary care physician.

I have to completely agree with all of the comments on here. I have experienced most of the same things from him. My latest fiasco was requesting a anxiety pill that he had filled twice over the last 3 yrs. They had 30 pills and would last me for over 6 months, so there was no addiction problem. He told me he would re-fill them but only if I went to a head doctor first! I also had a experience with him while we were having a conversation when he stood up, put his clip board in front of his crotch and then was pushed down with his hand behind the clip board. I have changed doctors, obviously.

I saw Dr. Patel once. My first and only appointment with him was terrible. He didn't do any type of exam. No blood pressure, didn't listen to my heart, lungs, or any other exam a doctor usually does when they see their patients, especially new ones. I have epilepsy, and needed my doctor to prescribe my epilepsy meds. He filled a one month supply and then refused to refill my prescription after that. When I asked why, all I was told was "just because he won't". He then told me that he wouldn't do it unless I traveled all the way to Las Vegas to see a neurologist because no neurologist in northern Nevada was accepting my insurance. I took it upon myself to call around to different neurologists offices. I going a neurologist in Reno that does accept my insurance. His job as a doctor is to take care of his patients, and actually care about this medical needs. His office should have been the ones to call around to see who accepted my insurance. They have all the information for different doctors etc... I explained to him that if I did not get my meds that I would have multiple grandmal seizures and that it would not only put me in danger, but my children as well. He absolutely did not care. From other reviews I've read it seems to me that he treats his female patients like they don't matter. I have found a new doctor who cared, and supplied me with a full year worth of my medication.

Dr Patel does not listen nor care about his patients. I had severe throat and ear pain. His diagnosis come back in three months. I then made an appt. with an ENT doctor who diagnosed me with a mass on my pharnyx. I had surgery and was lucky the mass was benign. Since head and neck cancer is a very time sensitive diagnosis, waiting the 3 months could have been very detrimental if it had in fact been a cancerous mass. I would not recommend Dr Patel to anyone.

Horrible experience! He didn't listen to anything I said, interrupted me, and was no help at all. Will not be seeing him again, I'll drive to Reno see a real doctor.

Dr. Patel has misdiagnosed a couple of friends of mine. One is now life threatening due to his inability to listen & take appropriate action. He (or his staff) say they are ordering tests and then don't for a month or better. He always smiles while he seems to be saying "you have no idea what you are talking about". This seems to be more prevalent with women. I have been seeing him for a couple of years, but no more. He is fine with simple things, but ignores patients on more complex things.

One of the greatest doctors I've ever seen. Very nice and professional and really explains everything to you. Also the staff is very nice and very helpful!
