West River Mental Health's Online Review Report Card

I originally posted my review 8 months ago. I'm editing it to show that I stand by what I said before. If you are able to go elsewhere (or take whatever loved one elsewhere) then you probably should. Just because they changed their name doesn't mean they aren't still the same abusive and neglecting organization they were before. They even had to lie and cover up a bunch of stuff to sell their pit of an apartment building that anyone can tell the new owners seriously regret. Clients get ignored. Sudden unsafe med changes happen based on signed contracts and not the client's well being. When there is good caring staff that's not bullied into silence, they get cast out and threatened with blacklisting (unable to work for any kind of social service in Rapid and immediate area, at least) if they go to anyone, and are told they can't contact their clients anymore. The things they put people through are disgusting, no one should have to live like that. And to be targeting people that are already at such a disadvantage. But who do you go to? If it's not considered discrimination, who cares? Good job, South Dakota lawmakers. Good job.

Honestly, it was great when I started but the past year they nose dived. My provider randomly left BMS and I didn't find out until my appointment and I was rescheduled with someone I didn't know. I loved my first recovery coach but she left to go back to school, however my new one has failed in every way. I saw her once in person and ever since then I haven't been able to get an appointment. All of them were supposed to be virtual zoom / over the phone at specific times, and she never calls. When I call for my appointments, she doesn't answer and it took her several days to get back to me just to reschedule, just to miss this one too. I've been with them now for over 2 years, and they genuinely disappointed me. Avoid them if you have other options.

The last two in a half years that I went there before I flat out quit. My last case manager would always tell me "If you need anything, just give my a call", therefore I would call her when my mental status was lowering. It would 95% of the time, be a week later to a week in a half, before she would return my call. When I needed her the most, she was not there for me.For the most part, every time we would meet she would tell me "You Got This", when I needed her help working through situations the most

I need to get out of BMS. It has always been awful but even worse since Covid started. I have been in constant crisis. The CNP I see spends four minutes with me every two weeks, forgets refills and new prescriptions unless the latest one came from the vendor. She hasn't ordered Labs for years, has cut me off cold turkey of a medicine that helps my severe anxiety. Doesn't care about side effects butonly about sleep. Has asked "What can I do for you today" and earlier this year told me "I was too young and too nice of a guy to feel this", seems to very little about Psychiatry, will take you off a med that's working for whatever the name brand pharmy gives her". I hav gained and lost weight in extremes and she doesn't blink an eye. Barely knows what you are taking or who cares. Never bothers to see if you're in an emergency. Since Covid has started it has gotten even worse. They won't help me navigate the resources I need not just to die.l am about to lose my medical coverage, housing, employment and no one does a thing. I beg of people they consider "higher functioning" to start coming forward with how little they care." I guess if you're poor and mentally ill they enjoy keeping you in Hell and unable to find peace. Absolutely appalling. Please come forward fellow clients and share your stories. I'm trying desperately to get help elsewhere but it's becoming impossible. I am scheduled to see the CNP again next week but there is no way I can go They have treated me like a Guinea Pig for years. Help!

They have been a great help and are always ready to offer assistance whenever they can. I am very happy with their services.

This place is where I've been going for several years now, they help people with mental handicaps, there is a building right across the parking lot that has the transitional living facilities and crisis care.
