List of Avera Medical Group Family Health Center- Marion Road's Reviews
Worst reception services. They will put no show for any reason and each reception lady will keep sending you different floor without telling any proper information. I will choose different insurance coverage so you don’t have to go to Avera on Marion road. Wish I could give them negative reviews
front desk was very helpful and caring, as for the doctor I saw in urgent care not as much, I’ve have a swollen throat (assuming thyroid is swollen) for the past month went in and they gave me a strep test (Ik it wasn’t strep) the strep test was negative obviously, was told they didn’t know much about thyroids so they couldn’t do anything to help had to book an appointment in dells so I actually can get treated and help relieve the pain. In Sioux Falls I was told just to take over the counter medication as I was already doing the past month and it wasn’t helping which is why I went in. Honestly disappointed nothing was done and wasn’t told anything. I just want the swelling down and the pain relieved as it’s affecting my day to day life. Just wished they would’ve done more, the doctor seemed nice and caring but like I said nothing was done, wasn’t told anything and it just wasn’t helpful at a
I would give zero stars if I could. Throwing someone out into the snow because they need to use the bathroom is unacceptable. From anywhere, yes, but especially a hospital. Either hospital policy needs to change so that it is no longer an actively hostile environment and can actually service the needs of the community (instead of an environment that lets any petty security guard on a power trip throw people out, even when the actual trained staff is trying to help said person) or the hospital needs to find another security provider who provides a service that is better than the seemingly untrained, unprofessional clowns currently employed there. Unless changes are made, I would not recommend this hospital even to my enemies. Do better. Be better.
Have to pee, everything is closed except the local ER. I know this isn't a medical emergency, but I am kind of desperate. Asked to use the bathroom, the people behind the desk began to point it out. They were great and fine. They wanted me to be okay, plus there's an ice/snow storm outside and it's clear this is out of necessity, not inclination. They were looking out for my health and safety. Security guard, from the corner: "Nope. She can't use it. We're not open to the public. There's gas stations all up and down the street." Me: "they're all closed." Him: "Hm. Sure. We're not open to the public. Get out." It's not so much that I was denied the use of the bathroom, really. I'll figure that one out. It's that he was rude and implied that I was lying, despite the storm being obvious. As well as the two inch thick ice on the ground. I don't appreciate the accusation in his tone. I don't appreciate him speaking over the actual hospital employees. If I had been someone who needed to use the restroom before being checked in, what might have happened? He didn't even give me a chance to explain anything other than that. What might he do to a patient?
I saw Leah Mergen today. She made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. I highly recommend her.
Had a great experience. Dr. Volkmer was very attentive, making sure all questions were answered. His nurse is terrific, one of best I have had.
While passing thru Sioux Falls I developed a medical condition. So went to the emergency room and got right in and was taken of very well. All medical personnel was very good and prompt.
Very good service and I felt issues wit the pain in my neck and head were taken with compassion/
thorough efficient caring and took their time listening to each of my concerns
I was unable to schedule an appointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
