I'm not a good patient. Going to the doctor is the last thing i want to do. The doctor asked the right questions - listened to what I needed to say so he knew what was going on with me. I was very comfortable through out the vist. The young lady that helped us when we first came in. Asked questions that I'm sure the doctor needed to know. I'm a well educated physician, who graduated at the top of his class. The lack of care and downright lack of understanding of basic medicine taken with my close relative recently caused a significant delay in his care. He left Yankton, at my request, and went to Sioux Falls. Once the team in Sioux Falls saw his problems, they immediately performed surgery and said it was significantly more difficult because of the delay in care. This delay and difficulty in the surgery increases the risk of post-op complications, including a long term risk of small bowel obstructions. Not only this, but because the infection was allowed to continue in his body for a prolonged amount of time, he developed bacteria in his blood, raising a whole other host of possible complications. There is zero excuse for the lack of care he received in Yankton. Do not trust this group. Go to Sioux Falls.
