AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! TREATED PROFESSIONALY AND WAS SO THANKFUL.
Friendly and give you a great check up.
This facility and its doctors have strayed from the mission of its founder, Dr. McKee. Dr. McKee emphasized quality patient care and a caring bedside manner when dealing with his patients. He had invididuals come from all walks of life, from around the world, to be treated by him. Sadly, this philosophy has left the clinic and they are now focusing on finances and making money.I had an appointment with one of the physicians yesterday. My scheduled appointment time was 2:25 PM. I wasn't called for my initial eye exam with the tech until close to 3:45 PM. She wasn't the problem. She was very nice and professional and treated me with respect.I was then sent to the waiting room a 2nd time to wait for my actual meeting with the doctor. I was not taken back to the examination room for my meeting with my opthalmologist until 4:47 PM, close to 2 1/2 hrs after my scheduled appointment time. By the time my doctor came to actually meet with me, it was close to 5:00 PM.I was not given any type of apology or explanation for the doctor running so far behind. After my examination was completed, I had to be the individual who initiated a discussion of my long wait. I respectfully raised my concerns to the doctor and discussed my concerns over the clinic overbooking patients, and his only response to me was "I'm a very busy person... if you are concerned about your wait time, then you need to see one of our other glaucoma specialists." He never did apologize for his actions, and never even acknowledged that he and the office could have handled scheduling better.I am an adult. As much as it was an inconvenience to me, I can survive such a wait. The sad thing was that I was in a lobby with three single mothers with young children who had to wait as long, if not longer than I waited. These mothers did the best that they could to control and manage their toddlers, but they should not have been placed in that situation as well. It's not good customer care.I can't change what occurred to me yesterday, However, it is my hope that the Eye Clinic will rediscover their founding principles and the vision of Dr. McKee. Physicians have challenges that many cannot imagine. I get that. However, there is need to balance medical care with respecting those whom they give the medical care to. That's what Dr. McKee did when he founded this practice, and people from around the world came to see him. Maybe this practice one day can get back to the principles of care of its founding father
Dr. Carlson spends less than 2 minutes looking at my daughter's eyes, after we have been waiting for more than 2 hours!! Then we get the bill and they have the audacity to charge for a "long doctor's visit". This place ought to be shut down for insurance fraud in my opinion.
I'm not sure if they're overbooked or understaffed (or both), but a simple follow-up appointment shouldn't take 4 hours. I'll be finding a new office since my time here isn't valued.
I had Jones Tubes placed in both eyes. 2 days later I knew there was something wrong. My left tube was protruding. I went to see him and he said both of my eyes look the same and he didn’t see anything wrong but I was free to get a 2nd opinion which I’ve done. The protruding tube has to be removed! Carlsen became aggressive and dismissive when I pointed out the issue. He had the nerve to ask me what I did to it ! He also said I could take a w/tip and push it done! I’ll never go back!
Waited 3 1/2 hours to see doctor even with appointment.
It’s truly like herding cattle. Most of staff are very nice however little time is spent with a Dr. A different staff member does each test and you are hurdled from room to room. I don’t think I have ever seen a physician with worse bedside manners as Dr. John Johnson. He is arrogant and curt when he came into the room for less than five minutes He mostly speaks to the assistant in the room and rarely addressed the patient. I was assisting an elderly person who received some devastating news about her eyes. He showed no compassion although when he left the room his assistant was very nice.
Very poor service and wait forever for the doctor to look at a picture that nurse took. Said I needed surgery and tried to push me to get it done. So went to another doctor and he looked at it and was able to cure it with some eye drops. He asked who said I needed surgery and told him with a laugh and shake of the head he said thank god I didnt do it and came to him. So got the bill from this joke of a place and was 300 for office visit and even charge you for the picture they take 38 dollars. So yes shave your time and money and look somewhere else.
The "appointments" aren't really appointments, you will spend the majority of your day here. I don't feel my time is at all respected at this facility.
Always have to spend hours and hours and hours waiting never a quick visit always seem to be over booked
Great Doctors but way to many people in waiting room. Was like hurding cattle in there.
Very disappointed. Waited over 30 minutes just to get checked in. Ended up having to leave just after they called me back..... Needless to say I will not be returning. Why give me an appointment when you don't see me until an hour later
question.. can anyone tell me if they had upper and lower eye surgery and how it went with Dr.Carlsen? Thank you
I have gone to Johnson City eye clinic ever since I've been in Johnson City and I've been totally satisfied. Yes the way is long but it does take time for the drops to take effect and for the exams. I never mind and I've been very happy with my experience with Dr Battle including the cataract surgery he's done and my care with him. I would recommend it to anyone.
Avoid this place. Very poor quality service, arrogant people, inconsiderate doctor, sarcastic humor and on top of that, expensive. Not thorough in their examination. I am NEVER coming back.
Dr Oakley is a good cataract surgeon but she seems to be stuck on dry eye. I had severe watering in my eye after cataract surgery and all she kept saying was it was dry eye and to keep putting in drops to lubricate. She wasnt even listening to me. I went to another Dr in the practice and he told me it was a blocked tear duct which required minor surgery.
Excellent Dr.
