Shelley Griffith's Online Review Report Card

I had major abdominal pain for over a month. He ordered one ultrasound and one blood test. Then told me nothing showed on either test. I was running low grade fever the entire time. He said to keep a pain journal and told me to come back in 6 months. After a month of sheer hell I went back. He refused to order more tests and when I questioned him on the fever he said it was in my head. He would not order additional tests until I had seen a psychiatrist. I left the office in tears. I promptly got an appointment with another doctor in a different town. I was told I had an infected uterus. That second doctor questioned if Griffith even examined me and I said he did, indeed examime me! In the end I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Dr. Griffith is not compassionate toward patients and I believe he actually enjoys watching women suffer. I've met three other women with which he has used the 'see a psychiatrist' bit on, plus also claim their pain was in their heads. He is not a good doctor!

If you are a 'monied' person in mcMinn county then he might treat you like a human being. If you are someone who works paycheck to paycheck then go elsewhere. You will not get the respect NOR medical care you truly deserve. He called for tests that would not reveal the infection I had, as I later learned from another physician. He made me wait over 6 months to do tests and had me keep a journal of my pain. Then even after testing he claimed there was no problem and the pain (and low-grade fever) was all in my head. Said he wouldn't do any additional testing until I saw a shrink. I left his office, got on the phone and made an appointment with a doc in Cleveland. He diagnosed me with an infected uterus and endo. I have now heard from three other women who had endo that they were done EXACTLY the same way. I find that rather disturbing, as if this 'doctor' WANTS YOU to go on living in pain and not being able to bear children! I actually HATE this man! He was also rude to my husband as well. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He is now writing for the local paper so I don't know if he is semi-retired or what. If he isn't retired he SHOULD be. He is a butcher as far as I am concerned. A very sadistic person. NOT what you would truly call a 'doctor'. NO compassion whatsoever!
