Then man should have his license revoked. He is utterly imcompetent
For the past 2 years, I was hospitalized at Lakeside 3 times. Dr. Haykal was my doctor every time. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. He understands Bipolar Disorder so well in all aspects that he can also educate patients on every aspect of the disorder. He saved my life multiple times. (Note: I had to go to the hospital 3 times because of my own doing not because of the medicine I was put on by Dr. Haykal, every time I came in he instantly leveled me out.) I only wish he had a private practice. If you or a family member have Dr. Haykal has your doctor at Lakeside, know you are in the very best hands.
I had an wonderful experience with Dr Haykal. I would refer my family and friends to him. I'm trying too see how can I set up and appointment for outpatient care with him. Thanks in advance
Was correctly diagnosed by him years ago for my mental illness. Later when I was inpatient in hospital, he was terrible as my doctor.
I was referred to Dr. Haykal. I had to wait 2 hours for my first visit. This does not surprise me in a doctor's office, however, I was the first patient. He gave no reason for being that late and, from what I heard, it is not unusual for him to be late for no known reason. He only talked to me for about 15 minutes, and then I had to pay $200 in cash since I didn't have insurance. I felt the $200 was basically for him giving me a paper to fill out. It was obvious he was cutting my appointment short so that he could catch up to his other patients who were also waiting for him. I felt cheated. I value my $200 more than that. He may be good at psychiatry, but I'll never know. I didn't make another appointment because I felt he didn't value me, but just my money. Obviously his personal life was more important than my appointment, but he still felt entitled to the money in my pocket. He should have never asked for payment.
Dr. Haykal was my psychiatrist at Lakeside a couple of years ago. I wanted to make him my permanent doctor, but he didn't have any space available. In my opinion, he saved my life and finally was able to get me set up on a medicine regime that works! I have been struggling with bipolar II disorder for years and it took 3 previous hospitalizations and wrong meds for me to get an accurate diagnosis. He is very good at what he does and truly listens to what is going on with his patients. He also did his homework by pulling old files and I didn't have to request that. All I can say is that he really knows how to treat mood disorders and is world renowned. Get him if you can.
Hospitalization was neccisary. Medication daily is alot to adjust to. I hate opening myself up for more judgement. Dr.Haykal has been a good listener but rarely ask questions. Just because I'm at home now doesn't mean I'm OK I still want to die 50% of the week. Coping skills learned at Lakeside has helped but still feel overwhelmed more often than not. Will continue treatment, he has been the first correct med. changes and diagnosis.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
