He's nice but this facility and the people who work there ruined it for me. I didn't even get feedback on the real reason I'd made my appointment until I called back a few days later because I was still in discomfort. I was told I had an Abnormal pap and needed a procedure. However my appointment was made a MONTH and a few weeks away. I mean is it cancerous or not? No one there seemed in a hurry to find out. Then during the wait for my appointment date, I was called and told that Dr. Booker wouldn't be avail to do the procedure and another doctor would. THEN a week after that I was called to be told that doctor needed to reschedule me. At that point, I decided I just didn't trust the facility all together. Just got my medical file transferred. Don't waste your time.
Dr. Sylvestor Booker was THE WORST. I left that place crying. He's extremely insensitive for him to be a obgyn. Even his assistant said it,they are also inefficient in keeping basic information. I left there in tears because of this condescending fool. I'll never go back to him OR HUH. Because of him going forward i've been really picky about who'll be my gynecologist and I've found a great one at Washington Hospital and I'm extremely satisfied.
This place is a mess especially the womens health clinic on the 4th floor. Their customer service stinks and their time wait to be seen is terrible. They schedule you for a 9:50 appt. it will be a hour before you get back in a room, then another hour before a actual doctor comes in to see you. The medical assistants are rude, and ghetto especially the one the one with the blue lipstick. They really need to take some customer service skills . After waiting a whole three hours the 'doctor' comes in and gives me a paper for blood work and says I can go. This place is terrible and Im even ashamed for the hospital being as though this is HU. Terrible I will Never go back and I advise you tp STAY AWAY FROM THIS GHETTO MESS THEY CALL A HOSPITAL/CLINIC.
Dr. Booker was kind and helpful, but his staff was anything but. I had to call in three times just to get a simple birth control prescription, and then they only filled it for six months. I was told that they would not give me an additional month, and that I needed to be seen by the Doctor. In addition to that, they never contacted me, or returned calls, about my lab work. I eventually found another, more professional office that contacts me the moment I need to know something, instead of me having to chase them down and beg, or hound, them for information.Thank goodness it wasn't a matter of life or death! I moved to Dr. Onumah at Georgetown Clinic and have been very happy with my experience there.
I have been a patient of Dr. Booker's before his time at Howard. Although, there are some challenges at HU Hospital, Dr. Booker is a wonderful and knowledgable Doctor. To those who have rated him negatively, there are hundreds of OB/GYN's in the area, but for me Dr. Booker is better than my General Physican. He has called me on the weekends and has great follow-up... I believe if you express your comments to him personally, he will correct the situation. Unfortunately, because this is not his private practice, some things should be addressed with the University. If you want someone that is very knowledgeable and will tell you the truth, Dr. Booker is your man!
Worst doctor and office I've ever encountered. I wouldn't go back here for a band-aid, let alone for an important annual check-up.
I really wish I could say that Dr. Booker is so great that seeing him is worth stomaching the 2 hour waits, incompetent staff, foul-mouthed patrons and generally chaotic atmosphere, but the truth is NO doctor is worth all that.Dr. Booker is kind, insightful and knowledgeable. Yet I still get the feeling he is gently trying to shut me up and get me out of the office so his next patient (who is typically standing at the reception desk cursing at the staff) doesn't literally lose her mind in the waiting room.I don't feel bad writing this review, because I actually think Dr. Booker will benefit from having a few less patients - he is constantly overbooked and looking rushed and stressed. If you have 3 hours to spend in the middle of the week day waiting for your appt., and you don't need more than 7 minutes of attention, then Dr. Booker is a very lovely, nice doctor to have.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
