Daniel Crane's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Crane is great. I find him very warm, friendly, and receptive. The glaring issue is his office manager, Alison. Not only is she rude and unprofessional, but she does not respond to emails. There is also no way to call the office, it just leads to a message saying to email them instead. They do not have an office anymore but it is still listed as open, so be careful not to waste your time and show up like others have since it still says it's open on Google Maps. The email address is not a private or professional email address in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Many times I have not received responses to emails and have had to chase her while keeping my fingers crossed for a curt, one-word response. She has also botched insurance information multiple times in the past with misspellings, leading to headaches and is still unapologetic. The office will lose any references, referrals, or results from other doctors. It's SO hard to find a good psychiatrist. It's incredibly disheartening that to have finally found one, only to be thwarted by incompetent staff. One has to wonder if maybe they are related? I don't know why else she would still have this job. All the Google reviews say the same thing about her, so obviously, this is a huge issue that continues to go unresolved. A shame, really. If you have anxiety issues, I would suggest finding a provider whose staff does not make them worse.

Dr. Crane is an extremely subpar care provider. More of a drug dealer, honestly. If you truly care about your treatment and recovery I would not recommend his practice. He always calls off of a private number, and he rushes you off the phone in ~5 minutes. His office is closed even though in the voicemail it mentions it should have opened this Spring, basically rendering them unreachable in anyway besides e-mail where you're met by a gatekeeping dragon named Allison. I came to him expressing the desire to discuss my long-term progress and desire to make changes to my treatment he basically told me I shouldn't, rushed me off the phone, and to call when I need to go back up-essentially leaving me to play reddit psychiatrist for myself. Luckily I'm a smart cookie and I feel much better; however, without the guidance of my doctor which frankly is unsafe. He honestly has no clue who I am or my case, as we began meeting over telemedicine over the pandemic and clearly never cared.Now let's get to the real beef-the trifling, rude receptionist named Allison who works as his support staff. She is unbelievably disrespectful-like, I'm floored. I have no clue why he employs this wretched woman. It's literally impossible to get an appointment within a reasonable timeframe which is bizarre; seeing as each appointment you are rushed off the phone in five minutes only to be met with support staff that is impossible to work with.I scheduled my last appointment after expressing criticism about timeframes and the amount of time and lack of concern about my treatment. They gave me an appointment, and then proceeded to stand me up at 8:45am and leave me without medication with no warning. Literally the most petty crock of you know what I've ever experienced-only for expressing criticism. I didn't use cuss words, or say anything actually disrespectful, only honest. I'm appalled at how I've been treated. Unbelievable.

I don't think the people who left negative reviews understands the difference between a therapist/shrink you cry to for 45 mins vs psychopharmacologist. I've been going to Dr. Crane for years and he's always been helpful for me. What you pay up front depends on your insurance/co-pays for the insurance plan you have. Any specialist will charge a co-pay. Receptionists are always nice and pleasant when I call or go in.

Wants $50 up front, they forgot to confirm the appointment, and by far the rudest staff I've ever seen. There's something horribly wrong when you talk to the staff, and all they tell you is what they can't do. It's a dumpster fire, stay away.

Dr. Crane is a very good, compassionate and kind psychiatrist. He treated me with professionalism and I am very thankful for his help.The office is very clean, quiet and the staff very nice. Very good experience and I recommend Dr. Crane if you really need a right diagnosis and treatment.

This place is NOT for the faint of heart. Seriously - Doc Crain and his receptionist/assistants are scary and intense and I often feel MORE anxious having to go to this place for a refill on my anxiety meds. Oh also - they seem to work, like, 3 days a week for half days? Ay yi yi, I ned a new doctor. If you're looking for anything more than a quick in-and-out appointment for a refill - find somewhere else.

Compassionate, kind and funny when it counts. He will prescribe the right meds and help you find a good therapist. He is very good at reading what your needs are. What else can you ask for.

I have always found Dr Crane and his staff to be incredibly helpful. I had a lot of trouble with my insurance and his staff was very diligent in helping to rectify the situation. I would highly recommend Dr Crane to anyone seeking a psychiatrist.
