Lilly Yi Zhu's Online Review Report Card

My wife and i have been seeing Dr. Zhu for about 15 years now and right from the beginning, we knew that she is a "Gem" in the medical field. Dr. Zhu quickly diagnosed my wife with a rare autoimmune disease that she had been suffering from for year. Other physicians wrote her off telling her that there was nothing wrong with her and to try yoga to relieve her multitude of symptoms. If those other physicians just took the time to talk with her instead of being rushed to see other patients my wife could have been treated earlier. Dr. Zhu also diagnosed me with a neuro-degerative disease which was confirmed by a neurologist immediately thereafter. Dr. Zhu has a great bed side manner and actually smiles and laughs unlike other physicians who have no sense of humor whatsoever. We only wish she was able to have stayed in Burlington where we reside. Great doctor!!! Thank you Dr. Zhu.

As a long time patient of Bill McDaniel, as was happy for him, in retirement and sad to lose him as my dermatologist. However, I was very pleased with Dr Zhu and satisfied that she will continue to treat me as well as Dr McDaniel did. Andy Beasley

I don't know why everyone hates this doctor! Honestly it's not bad! Went here yesterday to get my school physical. We were finding a doctors office for me. My mom and dad were with me and we went there. The doctor is very nice and understands me 100 % I love how kind she is! One thing that is suspicious about this place is that the people there that's in the front desk are rude they don't have a smile in their face and they seem like they don't like their job. But other than that this place is amazing! The shot didn't even hurt! She was very kind to me and my parents. Didn't give attitude! I don't know why everyone hates this place!

I have now seen the Dr. Zhu several times and, get this, she actually listens to me! I tel her what I think is wrong, and she investigates that avenue!! Never happened before! I tel her I don't want to take any unnecessary meds and would rather try natural solutions first and she....listens, and charts my progress! She is straight with me, but she is also willing to hear. Great staff, and great doctor.

I've only had on encounter with Dr Zhu, so far, but it exceeded all my expectations! She listened carefully and was truthful, in a kind and respectful way. I was treated very well by her staff, also.

I only evaluate her appointment schedule.I moved to Connecticut and she is the only Chinese doctor available in my area. Before I had very good experience with my Chinese doctor since I could communicate my medical condition in Chinese easily. On the first appointment day, I was late for less than 10mins due to a heavy traffic on the way. I told them It took me 45 mins to be here and since no patient was there, why not just let me see the doctor. The front desk lady only said "reschedule the appointment" and no comfortable words. I complained that their severice is not good and rejected the reschedule.After two monthes, I haven't changed my primary doctor but need see the doctor. I called again, this time the lady told me she knew I was the one complaining on the first time appointment, but she gave me the earliest morning in the recent date since I told her I prefer that. I thought this time they treated me good.On the appointment day, I went out very early to avoid being late. When I was almost in their office, they called me "Please don't come beause you complained". I asked " why you gave me the appointment?" No answer, just hang up

I had a great doctor for eight years and tried Dr. Zhu for some months but she turned out to be the pits.#1: She's only in three days a week. (God forbid you get sick on a Wednesday afternoon - you'll have to wait until the next Monday to see her!)#2: Her new staff is the worst - when she asks them to refer you to a specialist, good luck to you! They might or might not do it. They'll certainly take their time (measured in days)!#3: I called her for a prescription renewal and wasted my time going to Walgreens two days in a row but they said it hadn't been phoned in by Zhu. I finally called her office. One of her staffers said she'd refused to fill it because it was "an opiod" (I've been on hydrocodone for migraines for more than 25-30 years and have used it very very responsibly (I still have some left from 2015...which is now out of date).) Number one, this is outrageous. Number two, she didn't have the courtesy to tell me she was refusing the request. Finally, she didn't have the courtesy or demonstrate the professional responsibility to me to prescribe an alternative medicine!The funny thing is I finally told her office that, given all of the above and more, I was moving on to a different doctor.She then had the nerve to send me a letter a week or more later saying she'd no longer serve ME! She's a LOSER and will only cause you misery. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

Aside from only being in her office three days a week (good luck if you get sick on Wednesday - you'll have to wait until Monday to - hopefully - get treated!), her office fails to renew prescriptions (sometimes because she refuses to renew medicines you've taken for years - but she doesn't get back to you informing you she's doing so, or why), fails to refer you to specialists you need, and fails to provide results of tests (such as sonograms) on a timely basis (I've been waiting more than a week for my sonogram results - which she, for some strange reason, ordered herself). I phoned recently to say I was moving on to another doctor. Enough is enough!
