Richard David Jacobson's Online Review Report Card

He is extremely dishonest verbally and in writing. A trip to the civil court to search will result in his settled malpractice suit, and other suits brought, and the nature of it. (After he settled, the court case was dismissed due to this settlement. I think at least one such case might be called Jennings v. Jacobson.) This is in addition to the many negative reviews I read and heard in person from others, after I had started. Where did all these many negative reviews go? Even the referral I had received to him had some qualification, though not nearly to the extent merited. Luckily, he was so extreme in his dishonesty the credit card company charged back his charges, since he did almost nothing though charged me monthly totaling thousands of dollars. He left large chunks of glue on my teeth for about a year, and the expert I received an opinion from said his conduct was below the standard of care and that he was intentionally keeping me in pain wearing an appliance below the standard of care as he did nothing though charged me monthly.

Dr jacobson and his team have been absolutely amazing. They are all so kind and always willing to help. The office is so lovely, I am always impressed with Dr Jacobsons expertise and vast knowledge. I greatly trust and appreciate his approach to orthodontics, tmj treatment, and sleep apnea.

in 2014 I visited the er with after an ovarian torsion event weeks later I would come to find out I had a cancerous ovarian cyst the size of an apple. This doctor gave me a pregnancy test and a diagnosis of stomach virus. I knew well it was not a stomach virus and if he had listened to the quality of pain I described then he would have known that too and done further testing. instead I was completely gas lit and disrespected. This doctor need to be reviewed and have his license taken away. Do not trust this man

I had a bad experience with Richard Jacobson. Although he had great bedside manner he charged me a ton of money to get x-rays done and then after spending close to $1,000 wanted to charge me for an additional consultation afterwards to let me know that what I wanted he wasn't able to do. I spent a long time at the office being shuttled around to various rooms (which I think they do to justify costs) and then was told it was all for nothing. Please stay away from these swindlers.

Dr. Jacobson is without a doubt the most intelligent, kind, and overall best orthodontist I have ever had the privilege to be treated by. Before him, I had never visited an orthodontist who could swiftly create and execute a plan that would fix all of my problems. His commitment to my case was unwavering with his carefully crafted and personalized plan that met all of my needs. His work goes above and beyond, and centralizes around the patient's concerns and wellbeing. He and his team are welcoming and kind, and clearly care for patients on a personable level!

This is a late review, but don't want anyone to experience what I went through with Dr. Jacobson. I previously saw Dr. Jacobson for Invisalign trays and bite realignment. To start, everything that's done here is done so without giving patients an estimate. Over the phone I was told one thing by him, and the next you get massive bills in the mail that don't reflect what you were verbally told. Each tray of invisalign was roughly $400, not to mention they charge for office visits, and every minor thing in between. For instance, I regrettably had Dr. Jacobson file down some of my maxillary and mandibular incisors. After seeing my teeth post-filing, I immediately broke down in tears, as he over filed one of my front maxillary incisors and made my mandibular incisors completely uneven. I discussed how upset I was with the doctor and he made it seem like no big deal because length could easily be added to my teeth...the last thing I want is anything synthetic on my teeth. I was mortified and left the office again in tears. Fast forward to the following week when I received a bill in the mail for $600 for teeth filing. I was in absolute shock, not only because I was so upset after how uneven my teeth came out after the filing, but because I was never given a verbal or physical estimate for how much it was going to be. I understand that services like this don't come free, but I should've absolutely been warned that I would be spending that much to have a botched teeth filing job. I've since had to go to another dentist to fix the unevenness of my teeth that was caused from this. I wish I had done more research prior to coming here. I wasted so much money on this scam of an office, only to spend more elsewhere fixing Dr. Jacobson's mistakes. On top of it all, the people he has working for him couldn't be more rude. Stay far away from this place!!

So far I've had a great experience with Dr. Jacobson and his office. I initially went in to see about correcting my bite, and am now halfway through Invisalign treatment. Dr. Jacobson does a great job explaining all of my options, and answers my barrage of questions each time to help me find the best path forward. His team/staff are all very helpful as well. I've seen improvements already -- headaches reduced in the morning, etc. Excited for the final product. Will update when treatment is complete!

This is a very late review reflecting on a visit in 2013 but the impression still stays with me. This orthodontist seems like a mad scientist, trying to impress with a barrage of screens in his little private auditorium where he performs a little act. He works with fear and black-and-white solutions. Overall, my lasting impression of him: this guy is creepy. Never went beyond the first visit, just trusted my gut feeling (and the fact that all his assistants look and act like Barbies), am glad I never did.

We are so happy that we chose Dr. Jacobson for orthodontia treatments for my kids! They are both (ages 12 & 14) currently using Invisalign and I'm amazed by the results. And the office experience has been phenomenal. Everyone there is sweet and professional. One thing that I really appreciate is that Dr. Jacobson actually talks to my kids and asks them about their experience and questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Jacobson and his staff!

Extortionist. Not once over an 18 month period did this guy give us an honest answer. Always charging more than we agreed and never told the truth about procedures and time tables. Stay away and save yourself the aggravation. Extremely unsatisfied.
