List of Rogers Behavioral Health Nashville's Reviews
Just discharged from the adolescent depression recovery today. I was forced to go by my parents, but rogers has truly helped me change my life for the better. They gave me the skills and resources to live life to the fullest. Not to mention the absolutely incredible staff. Special shoutouts to heather, Erin, Khalid, and virgina. They have made a lasting impact on my life and I couldn’t have done it without them.
If you have ADHD and/or autism, or suspect you have either, I do not recommend this place. I did PHP for two months, and I truly believe this program is not set up for, and could possibly be detrimental to autistic and adhd people. Search for care specifically for those things. Cons: - Most of the staff in my program were current grad students or people fresh out of school. I understand of course these people have to learn on the job somehow, but they should have a more experienced ratio of staff. I was one of my therapist’s first patients, and looking back we made absolutely no progress and we met for therapy everyday! And I even made her a whole list of topics/issues I had that I wanted to touch on specifically. It also always felt very rushed most of time. I was in a very vulnerable place (as most people there are), more than the average person just doing/needing therapy weekly. Most of us were in crisis which led us to Rogers. So it doesn’t quite make sense to me to have such inexperienced staff make up the majority of the team to treat people who for the most part need more than baseline mental healthcare. - honestly in hindsight I hated it. It felt like school, but more if school really was a prison like everyone jokes about. It’s such a tiny space, it’s just a hallway that you’re sharing with the other programs (whom you’re not allowed to interact with) so sometimes there’s literally no space/rooms available to be alone for a second. And you’re not allowed to leave. But the school thing is mostly bc of the dynamic with the staff and patients. I felt like they were incredibly infantilizing and belittling. Like I understand there has to be a professional divide, but I’ve had school teachers treat me better and with more respect. It’s almost like a power thing, like how a teen camp counselor is when they have authority for the first time. It’s hard to describe in text, but it was a huge part of my bad experience.… - Roger’s was the only place in the area that took my insurance and offered payment plans, so that is ultimately why I had to go to there. I had many other better choices but alas, money was the barrier. With that being said, after I dropped out of the program I was sleeping better after having bad insomnia for months… That was pretty much all i got out of it in the long run. I don’t remember anything we learned, bc it’s in such an unretainable lecture-based program. They even repeated the lessons multiple times, and still nada. - They throw around BIG life-altering diagnoses way too soon. my first week they had me meet with a woman (I never saw again), who gave me a whole long list of questions and took notes on my answers, to give the psychiatrist, to diagnose me. Before I even met the psych, she diagnosed me bipolar (which I can confirm with every fiber of my being I am not). But bc of this she immediately put me on an anti-psychotic to treat bipolar disorder. (It’s also $500 every time you see the psych btw, which is usually for about 10 min max.) -they LOVE exposure therapy, and would often jump to that too soon in my opinion.. Like it really seemed like these are all just grad students and we are their test monkeys to make mistakes and learn from. -Rogers and the staff made me feel very shameful of myself most of the time. I could write so much more ^ and ends up I have no pros.
My 8 weeks at rogers was a great experience. I truly had the best team helping and encouraging me. I thought there was nothing I could do to get better but rogers proved me wrong. I never thought 8 weeks could change the way I viewed my future. rogers gave me so many tools and skills to go out with. I don't feel ashamed that I needed help and will continue to speak on mental health to others.
I was here a couple of years ago and just recently I realized that this could probably be considered psychological torture. You’re forced into watching things you’re scared of even if it’s a completely reasonable fear. I had to watch videos of people’s toenails being torn off. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible so I did what they asked most of the time. I broke down multiple times and tried to run away but was held down by staff. It had far more of a negative impact than a positive one. Please, for your sake, don’t come here.
I loved Roger's Recovery its laid back an I needed. It an im 60 days clean from meth I made the best of it .
Terrible. Absolutely terrible. My daughter is 11 and has severe ocd. Sent her here to receive treatment and it was awful. Waste of my daughter’s time and money. She was left in a room all by herself for days straight told to do her exposures but no one even showed her how. The therapists are like in their early 20’s and don’t know what they are doing. I finally pulled her because she got tired of sitting in a room all day by herself. Don’t ever go here unless you wanna pay for your child to sit in a room all day and stare out the window.
They did not do a proper assessment or testing for my daughter and were treating her for OCD when she actually had autism. It was traumatizing and awful.
We came to Rogers for help with our daughter that had ADHD. Our first attempt at intervention was going to Vanderbilt and seeing if we could get our daughter help at a Psych Hospital. After 5 days, all the hospitals in the South East said no and she was discharged from the hospital. First blow to the gut. We were told partial hospitalization was a good option and that with intense therapy and medication management / observation would be able to help our daughter. She was accepted at Rogers and we as a family were super happy. The first day was a little rough because of all of the questions. As a family we were optimistic we are finally going to get the help our daughter deserves. Well on the second day half way through, we were told she is getting discharged as she is not a good fit for their program. Second blow to the gut! Before attending Rogers, our daughter was saying goodbye to her friends and teachers at school. Now since she is not in the Program, she has to go back to school and she is having an even rougher time as she is embarrass to return to school and she is afraid the kids will make fun of her. Rogers did not even attempt to try and help out. They saw my daughter was going to be a tough patient but gave up to easily. We are in a mental health crisis in the country because all of the hospitals and out patient facilities gets to pick and choose who there patients are!! We are doing everything we can to help our daughter and no one wants to help. Something seems wrong with this picture.
My son was there for about 5 months. Dr Lanue was great. However the counselors were awful. The dietitian was pretty good. I would recommend another place due to the cost, watch out if your deductible is not meet, you will get a fat bill come January. Need better therapist, one tall one didn't even speak to me when I was in room or online.
Genuinely had such a good experience here and it helped with my OCD a ton. Writing this a few weeks after discharge and honestly my one complaint is how I miss it. It became such a safe place for me that it was weird to not have it to rely on anymore. All of staff was extremely kind to me and I appreciate each and every one of them I interacted with. Especially Zach and Heather who I hope can see this review and know they made a difference. You guys are the best and in a couple years I totally want to work here because I know it works.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
