I rarely write reviews, but months later I am still upset about the interaction I had with this dr. I have an ADHD diagnosis from 2 previous doctors and they had no issues prescribing me adderall on an as needed basis. I moved so I needed a new doctor to get my prescription. She told me that “ADHD is over diagnosed in adults” and that “taking it on an as needed basis is not very good” and that she wasn’t going to prescribe me adderall at this time. She never asked me about any of my symptoms of it at all, and basically told me I don’t have ADHD. I felt very disrespected from this. I was also seeing her for some persistent nausea that I’ve been having that I think is due to anxiety and she tried prescribing me an acid blocker for dyspepsia. I’m a dietitian, I would know if I have dyspepsia, and I wouldn’t take an acid blocker for it unless it was severe. I had no other symptoms of dyspepsia so i don’t even know how she got to that conclusion. I felt like I was not listened to at all and treated like I didn’t know anything about myself or MY body. Doctors are experts in medicine, but patients are experts in their own body and that’s something that doctors and healthcare workers in general need to remember. I will not be seeing Shannon again

Dr McDonald has taken care of me and my family for 10 years. She goes above and beyond and gives excellent care.

I’ve been a patient of Dr McDonald for almost eight years and love having her as my doctor. I feel like she takes the time to listen and doesn’t just make quick decisions about my healthcare. She has always been kind and attentive, especially during times where I have had some scary health concerns. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a new primary care.Also, every member of her staff I have ever come into contact has been kind, friendly, and helpful

I can’t speak to the bad reviews, but you can’t make everyone happy. So far she seems to be a great doctor. She listened, and had good bedside manner. She ran a few tests on me to try to pinpoint my issues and I was surprised at the results. No one has ever ran some of those blood tests on me before, even though they seemed pretty standard. I look forward to going back and seeing if the recommended treatments have helped my issue, and working with her on my overall healthcare.

I have been a patient of Dr. McDonald's for several years (began seeing her before she joined Tri-Star and followed her here despite the location now being less convenient). She has always been very attentive and patient with me and has truly listened and helped me every time I have brought up a concern. She has helped me smoothly navigate several medical issues when other doctors ("specialists") failed me and I will forever be grateful to her. She is very honest, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful and I would recommend her to anyone who asked.

Started seeing Dr. McDonald a few years ago when we moved to Tennessee. She does a good job. Sometimes rushes and sometimes is a bit stiff, but I would recommend Dr. McDonald. Her staff is delightful!

I’ve been seeing Dr. McDonald since I was in my early twenties and I’m so confused by these poor reviews. It makes me wonder if something else is not a play here, because I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this doctor. I work in the healthcare field, and would have no problem switching practitioners if I felt that a specialist was not being thorough. Dr. McDonald is very attentive and kind, and her staff has always been pleasant and helpful. These 1 star reviews reflect the opposite of what I’ve experienced during my visits to her office. I highly recommend her.

I have been a patient of Dr. McDonald for over 10 years. She is a very kind, calm, and attentive physician. Years ago when I had a very sudden falling out with a specialist I was seeing for a sleep disorder, she worked me into her schedule quickly and helped me transition through that situation smoothly. The nurses and office staff are always kind and polite.
