My sister was recently diagnosed with a rare sarcoma on her leg. Dr. Scharfstein agreed to operate . He was 3 hours late for surgery (very unprofessional), also 2 days after the surgery he reviewed the report and came to the conclusion my sisters case was advanced for this area and referred her to Vanderbilt for care. Dr. Scharfstein knew this was an urgent situation and instead of notifying her at once waited 12 days for her return office visit to give her this highly important information. Highly infuriating and hurtful as I am sure if this was his family member different steps would have been taken. If you have anything beyond a gallbladder removal I would definitely seek proper care elsewhere.

Dr. Sharfstein is an Amazing doctor I had to have hernia repair and honestly I would not trust anyone else to do any kind of surgical procedure on me.

Dr. Scharfstein was such a caring and thorough doctor. He treated an open surgical wound from another surgeon that would not close months after surgery and was successful in getting it to heal.

Terrible surgeon. Hernia surgery must be redone. Now it worse than it was before I decided to have the surgery. I do recommend him to anyone!
