List of Children's Hospital At Erlanger's Reviews
My friend had starting having seizures this morning and we had originally took her to Murray County Hospital. Well they were going to take her in the helicopter up here to TC Thompsons they ended up having to take her in ambulance because of the weather. We get here at 11:30 as i’m writing this its 2:20 we’re not allowed to see her after we had to run back and forth between this hospital and the hospital right beside it because they couldn’t figure out where she was. Once we found where she was they wouldn’t tell us what room number she is in what floor shes on or if shes even still alive. They won’t let her little sister go see her or anything. One of the front desk ladies had the worst attitude with us also.
Amazing nurses, respiratory therapists, and doctors in the Pediatric ICU! Especially thankful for Sarah, Ryan, Selin, and Anna who provided excellent care of my grandson. They went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was involved and informed about all of aspects of my grandson’s treatment. Blessings to the entire team!
I brought my daughter in for abdominal pain for the last 3 days. They sent in a student first to get a history, which was fine. They then sent in an attending doctor who got more of the same history and talked to me about which tests they planned to do. After that it took about an hour before anyone even came back in the room to get us to go down to x-ray and Ultrasound. After those tests we sat about another hour or so and I literally had to go out and ask how much longer. Needless to say I have now been here for 5 & 1/2 hours and they STILL s
This hospital has such great, talented people on staff. I recently had to take my 3 year old in for a virus and very high fever. If I was a patient myself, RNs like Keith, Aaron, and others (I can't remember their names) would be who I would want taking care of me. They were so patient and you could tell that they really cared. Everyone was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. If there was anything we needed, they did their best to assist us. We are blessed to have people like this helping our community.
My 21-month old son went to the pediatric outpatient surgery to get tubes placed into his ears. The whole team starting from reception to recovery nurse were awesome. Each one introduced themselves to us, explained their roles, and allowed ample time to ask questions. The whole process was quick and organized and we were kept up-to-date regarding our sons condition. The place very clean as well! Thank you to Dr. Salazar, the anesthesiologist, RNs Jenn and Courtney, our ENT Dr. Sabatini, and all other staff!
There were too many students doing clinicals there!! In hindsight, it’s a miracle my daughter lived through the many different times she was hospitalized there. She was there off and on from 2015-2017. She was misdiagnosed there and was wasting away. I am very thankful I took her to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to get a proper diagnosis it saved her life. I was ignorant to know about getting a 2nd opinion and her Dr at TC frowned on it when I brought it up to him. So, I didn’t. Now I realize that was a huge red flag and that he did not have my daughters best interests at heart. There was only a handful of nurses at TC Thompson that actually helped and were experienced. The doctors got complacent and we were on the brink of hopelessness. I am very thankful that those nurses were working the many times my daughter was admitted there. Without them I don’t know what we would’ve done. If you see a lot of students there you need to go elsewhere or go to (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) especially if your child is chronically ill. TC Thompson also ran soooo many unnecessary tests, labs, x-rays, etc on my poor little girl’s body. She was stuck so many times by inexperienced nurses it was a nightmare. They would draw so much blood that she would need a blood transfusion. She had several while we were there. I didn’t know then what I know now or none of this would have happened!!!! I had never had to deal with hospitals, nurses, Drs because my family was always healthy until then. I learned a lot ESPECIALLY that I had to be my child’s advocate and put my foot down and not allow anyone to do whatever they wanted, to ask questions and check meds, and request that no students come near my child unless supervised by a professional that cares about my daughters well-being. We were referred by Mayo to a Dr. in Atlanta. It has been 2 years that my daughter has been in recovery and it all happened because we left TC Thompson and got a 2nd opinion. I really hope and pray that things are different now for the sake of the many children that go there!🙏 Taylor and Jill were amazing with Tori and a breath of fresh air in the midst of the storm! A bigThank-you to them !! ♥️
If I could give zero stars I would! will NEVER go back to Erlanger Children's Hospital. My 9 month old was sent to have a C.T scan on his head due to it being on the larger side. When someone called me to set an appointment, she was rude right off. I had had a tonsillectomy the morning she called, I told her about it and I was trying my best to talk. I asked her to please give me an appointment a week or two weeks away so I could recover. She told me "no, he has to be seen at 9 months and he is allready 9 1/2 months old." I had noone else to take him so I told her I would reschedule with his pediatrician. Someone calls me a few weeks later to reschedule. she tells me someone will call me to let me know what to bring and where to go. The day of the appointment comes and noone has called me. I sat on hold for over 20 minutes trying to talk to someone there and finally hung up. When we get to the hospital noone helps me in any way or can tell me where I am suppose to go. Then i finally get some direction from a sweet lady at a entrance. I head to a registration desk and the lady never looks up at me, then helps someone who walked up after me, completely ignoring me talking to her. I try another desk and noone is there. I went behind the wall to see if I could find anyone and get told I couldnt be back there. When they finally get time for me, I was telling her everything that went on and all she can say is for me to "go to level g and take a left". I've lost my patience and I'm hurrying down an empty floor filled with 100s of broken printers when I get to the place I'm suppose to go. Every single lady was on her phone and ignoring me. I was able to finally hand someone the paperwork that was given to me. We get called back she tells me to lay my 10 MONTH OLD on the bed. she gets .ad for him not holding still and asks me to hold him down, in which I did. he starts squirming and kicks her. She then SLAPS MY CHILDS LEG AND SAYS "NO SIR". WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM AND SAYS SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU TOMORROW. if you can not handle a baby moving on the table you SHOULD NOT work at a childrens hospital. Never in my life have I ever felt so disrespected as I did at this hospital. I wouldnt reccomend them to ANYONE!!!!
Absolutely worst experience in medical institution. I understand that trips to ER are usually are bad but this was the worst experience I had with my son there. Came in fracture kept in ER for 5 hours even though decision was made to keep us overnight for surgery. ER room a little better than a jail cell. Would not give time frame on when we can be moved until I asked like 5 times. Icing on the cake prescription on the cake was prescription written could not be initially filled due to lack of directions for the pharmacy. After several phone calls to the hospital and being transferred and hung up on they finally got it. Staff was good doctors good customer service sucks.
Very happy with the nurses and doctor best hospital ever
Was there yesterday evening and last night with my son and they were not busy at all, but they were so stinking slow at doing every thing. Staff just sitting around doing nothing nurses taking there time and poking around like dead lice was falling off them. Told them my son's iv was beeping she said she tell our nurse and our nurse never came we had to just keep hitting buttons when it beeps to make it shut up. SLOW people I tell ya!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
