List of Children's Hospital At Erlanger's Reviews
I’m not one to bash at least not on the internet because it goes far but I hope this reaches whoever is over customer care at TC Thompson children’s hospital. For one the parking is horrendous. 2nd off we had to go to the ground floor for the ultrasound sound for Blakely and let me tell you IT WAS DISGUSTING. They can make every excuse they want about why but yall. I wouldn’t even let my dog walk on those floors. It looked like an abandoned building on the walking dead. Check in lady was so lazy uncaring and RUDE when I asked if she knew about how long it would be. We waited over an hour when they had specific instructions from the dr that we had to have the imaging before her actual appointment. They rushed so bad through her imagining the dr said they were not any good pictures and he would just give us his opinion. I want to add the physician was at another facility and was amazing.. but TC Thompson needs to step up their game. I’ve left several voicemails to complain and they didn’t answer so I’ll share with everyone.
I brought my daughter in for abdominal pain for the last 3 days. They sent in a student first to get a history which was fine. They then sent in an attending doctor who got more of the same history and talked to me about which tests they planned to do. After that it took about an hour before anyone even came back in the room to get us to go down to xray and Ultrasound. After those tests we sat about another hour or so and I literally had to go out and ask how much longer. Needless to say I have now been here for 5 12 hours and they STILL s
Children’s PICU is amazing My 8mo daughter had part of her left lung removed. My husband and I are both nurses but we were able to be Mommy and Daddy. Can’t even put into words how thankful I am for these nurses Thank you Nehali Leanne and Lauren for loving on us ❤️
My 21month old son went to the pediatric outpatient surgery to get tubes placed into his ears. The whole team starting from reception to recovery nurse were awesome. Each one introduced themselves to us explained their roles and allowed ample time to ask questions. The whole process was quick and organized and we were kept uptodate regarding our sons condition. The place very clean as well Thank you to Dr. Salazar the anesthesiologist RNs Jenn and Courtney our ENT Dr. Sabatini and all other staff
My 2 year old grandson was admitted in to your facility 2182021 with an infection that was causing him a lot of problems I would like to thank everyone from the ER staff to the staff on the third floor where we stayed for three days for the incredible care he received it takes a special breed of people to do what you do and we were so thankful for you We always knew what was going on and what to expect and when to expect it. Thank you for what you do and even though everyone was great our grandson took a liking to Nurse Julianna not sure of last name but she was incredibly comforting and is very good at her job Again thank you
If I could give zero stars I would will NEVER go back to Erlanger Childrens Hospital. My 9 month old was sent to have a C.T scan on his head due to it being on the larger side. When someone called me to set an appointment she was rude right off. I had had a tonsillectomy the morning she called I told her about it and I was trying my best to talk. I asked her to please give me an appointment a week or two weeks away so I could recover. She told me no he has to be seen at 9 months and he is allready 9 12 months old. I had noone else to take him so I told her I would reschedule with his pediatrician. Someone calls me a few weeks later to reschedule. she tells me someone will call me to let me know what to bring and where to go. The day of the appointment comes and noone has called me. I sat on hold for over 20 minutes trying to talk to someone there and finally hung up. When we get to the hospital noone helps me in any way or can tell me where I am suppose to go. Then i finally get some direction from a sweet lady at a entrance. I head to a registration desk and the lady never looks up at me then helps someone who walked up after me completely ignoring me talking to her. I try another desk and noone is there. I went behind the wall to see if I could find anyone and get told I couldnt be back there. When they finally get time for me I was telling her everything that went on and all she can say is for me to go to level g and take a left. Ive lost my patience and Im hurrying down an empty floor filled with 100s of broken printers when I get to the place Im suppose to go. Every single lady was on her phone and ignoring me. I was able to finally hand someone the paperwork that was given to me. We get called back she tells me to lay my 10 MONTH OLD on the bed. she gets .ad for him not holding still and asks me to hold him down in which I did. he starts squirming and kicks her. She then SLAPS MY CHILDS LEG AND SAYS NO SIR. WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM AND SAYS SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU TOMORROW. if you can not handle a baby moving on the table you SHOULD NOT work at a childrens hospital. Never in my life have I ever felt so disrespected as I did at this hospital. I wouldnt reccomend them to ANYONE
There were too many students doing clinicals there In hindsight it’s a miracle my daughter lived through the many different times she was hospitalized there. She was there off and on from 20152017. She was misdiagnosed there and was wasting away. I am very thankful I took her to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN to get a proper diagnosis it saved her life. I was ignorant to know about getting a 2nd opinion and her Dr at TC frowned on it when I brought it up to him. So I didn’t. Now I realize that was a huge red flag and that he did not have my daughters best interests at heart. There was only a handful of nurses at TC Thompson that actually helped and were experienced. The doctors got complacent and we were on the brink of hopelessness. I am very thankful that those nurses were working the many times my daughter was admitted there. Without them I don’t know what we would’ve done. If you see a lot of students there you need to go elsewhere or go to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta especially if your child is chronically ill. TC Thompson also ran soooo many unnecessary tests labs xrays etc on my poor little girl’s body. She was stuck so many times by inexperienced nurses it was a nightmare. They would draw so much blood that she would need a blood transfusion. She had several while we were there. I didn’t know then what I know now or none of this would have happened I had never had to deal with hospitals nurses Drs because my family was always healthy until then. I learned a lot ESPECIALLY that I had to be my child’s advocate and put my foot down and not allow anyone to do whatever they wanted to ask questions and check meds and request that no students come near my child unless supervised by a professional that cares about my daughters wellbeing. We were referred by Mayo to a Dr. in Atlanta. It has been 2 years that my daughter has been in recovery and it all happened because we left TC Thompson and got a 2nd opinion. I really hope and pray that things are different now for the sake of the many children that go there🙏 Taylor and Jill were amazing with Tori and a breath of fresh air in the midst of the storm A bigThankyou to them ♥️
This hospital has such great talented people on staff. I recently had to take my 3 year old in for a virus and very high fever. If I was a patient myself RNs like Keith Aaron and others I cant remember their names would be who I would want taking care of me. They were so patient and you could tell that they really cared. Everyone was very professional courteous and knowledgeable. If there was anything we needed they did their best to assist us. We are blessed to have people like this helping our community.
While I think the doctors and nurses are very kind as we have been to this hospital several times and have been admitted overnight more times then Id like to think about my most recent visit on Christmas day very much frustrates me. I brought my daughter in presenting a very high fever which she was diagnosed with flu and strep and then treated. I dont have an issue with that part besides the ER looking like its not been cleaned in years. My issue is the fact we were forced to share a room with another boy coughing constantly and diagnosed with croup... And the father preceded to tell me his other children had flu and RSV which is very contagious. He shouldve been given a mask and forced to wear it as he was probably 10 or older fully capable of understanding and complying. I made my 5 yr old daughter wear one and I wore one as well as to protect the other children in the hospital. I understand you cant force people but the idea was never presented to them. And now my children are sick again my 2 yr old with a croupy cough and she had lung issues in the past henceRSV why weve stayed there. I also understand you cant always prevent cross contamination in a hospital I get that but at least make an attempt and educate other patients on the severity their negligence I dont blame the other patient involved as he did not know and they were so kind can cause to other children. Its just the right thing to do. And again I will end on a positive note and say that the nurses and doctor were very kind and I appreciate that but my focus as a mother is the protection of my children and it pains me that thats not also the focus of a childrens hospital. I hate leaving a negative review but its in good faith that I write this in the hopes that doctors will take the time to educate people more thoroughly and Im not talking about a institutional flier that most will discard talk to people I guarantee they will be more likely to retain the information. Thank you for your time.
It is impossible to get in touch with your healthcares provider at this hospital. The doctors do not care for your well being and the new system for taking in patients reaffirms this. I will be switching doctors ASAP because my doctor does not do a good job nor care about my wellbeing. If you want your child to live take the money somewhere else.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
