Erlanger Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center's Online Review Report Card

I have serious issues with Dr Kromp. Had the surgery and ten days later had to go back and have it repaired. Had a digestive problem after surgery. Saw Dr Kromp several time, had to go another doctor to get fixed.

That was an absolute waste of my time. I showed up for my appointment and yes I was 14 mins late however no one was in their waiting room and they checked me in 10 mins later they told me i needed to reschedule. I work a Monday thru Friday 9-5 job and already had to take the day off and pay for parking to go. They never mentioned I would have navigate through a multitude of vendors on the main floor. Never again will I trust Erlanger for anything. Absolutely discusted with the way that the NP Samantha Dmochowski handled that situation.

Great Dr. and kind staff. Very supportive too.

Rude staff, the doctor threw a fit when I wanted options , will not go back

Dr. Sanborn was great had no problems really with him. However, seeing the nutritionalist is like an act of god. Her appointments are far out as it is. But the office calls to cancel the appointment the week of pretty much every time. She’s on vacation, she’s out this week, etc. Going on 2 months post op and haven’t got to be seen a single time due to cancelations. They push for you to understand the importance of making your appointments to ensure how things are going but then cancel and cancel the rescheduled.

I've been working on losing weight for the past 10 years or more. I've had successes and failures along the way. Prior to gastric bypass I lost about 100lbs and was very happy with my diet, however I unfortunately was hospitalized and put on O2 for 3 months due to Covid. I couldn't cook, and became complacent and gained 55lbs in 5 months, so I decided to go through with the bypass surgery. Dr. Cronk and the entire team at Erlanger are absolutely the best. My wife (Gastric Sleeve) and I (Gastric Bypass) both decided to use them for both of our weight loss surgeries. We've both been extremely happy with their openess about the process, the knowledge they openly share, and of course the end result. If you're looking to have weight loss surgery I cannot press how important it is to pick the right team to back you up, and I can tell you 100% this team is the right one.

I have had nothing but issues with the people in the office with Dr Cronk. My first issue was that the Metabolic center kept losing my primary care physicians paperwork for surgery. After 8 faxes and several phone calls that issue was finally resolved. I then got to talk to the scheduling department. I had to explain to them that I needed to get with my employer and work out my time off for the surgery. Instead they went ahead and scheduled two appointments one on a Monday and another on the next day for testing for my surgery. I told them that I had to work those days and I would have to call them back because I had to request time off for everything. They told me that was okay to just call them back when I got my days worked out. The next think that happened, I received a phone call from the testing center letting me know that I missed my appointment. I called again to find out what happened and I got transferred around and no one knew anything. In my opinion this is the most mismanaged office that I have ever been to in my life. After 8 months of issues I still haven't received a call back from them. Very Disappointing.

Getting released was a bit of a chore when you're ready to go home as is your family. They knew we had a long drive ahead and kept visibly lollygagging at the front desk after we'd explained that we needed to get me back to my hometown before the pharmacy closed, as I had just had surgery. Then when I was released they said to wait for a wheelchair. Everything took so long I just took off on foot. Don't get me started on the parking and valet, that was a hot mess. I really do like my surgeon though, Dr. Daniel Cronk and his nurse, Rachel, are both terrific. They seem to genuinely care and don't treat you insignificant. The OR staff was very friendly as well as was the lady in pre-op with the wild red hair, she was cool and eased my nerves.

Great experience with Dr. Cronk and his staff. They go above and beyond!
