Galen Obgyn East's Online Review Report Card

I called on Tuesday morning to try to make a new patient appointment. As no one was answering I pressed #1 to have someone call me back. No one called me back. On Wednesday morning I called again. I was able to talk to someone on the phone and requested a new patient appointment. They said they would have to call me back. No one called me back. I realize they likely did me a favor because if it is this hard to even get in the door, who knows what it would be like if I really needed to be seen due to an urgent matter. Very unprofessional.

I had a great delivery experience at Erlanger next door, but my OB experience during pregnancy at this location was disappointing. I'll preface by saying I was a fairly new Chattanooga transplant who had only heard great things about Galen. I was excited! Until I actually went here. I was high risk with medical complications and for seven months my OB's team called me by the wrong name, ignored my concerns, and didn't get me in to a high risk clinic. My OB was also gone almost every appointment on vacation. I regularly had to be rescheduled to fit her ever changing calendar. Big red flags all around. Shortly after leaving my OB at this clinic, I ended up in the hospital in early labor. Turns out my concerns were valid. My first appointment with my new OB, I was given a diagnosis of extreme Anemia (they actually listened to my concerns), called me by the right name, and immediately got me in to a high risk clinic to make sure me and baby were okay! The high risk clinic was shocked that I had not been sent by Galen at the beginning of my pregnancy. As was I. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone. Especially women of color or high risk women.

I am a new patient. The office is extremely busy, but everyone was friendly and I was able to get in with an NP in a timely manner within booking the 1st appt. The issue for me: The Patient Portal is TERRIBLE. I am tech savvy and I have had to call multiple times to get assistance. You can never talk to anyone when you have a tech question, but are instructed to leave a message, that no one calls you back. Viewing statements is non-existent on this portal. You get a text message that your bill is due, with no explanation of the charges or what your insurance has billed and covered. This might be a reason I seek a different office that doesn't require tech support to view my medical statement and appts.

I came here as a new patient, and the staff was wonderful!! I saw Keisha and she was great! She came into the room and spoke to me before the start of the exam. She heard all of what I had to say and supported everything, I definitely felt comfortable at this practice with the care I received. My appointment was at 1:30, but I got there a little early. I was taken back around 1:15 and I was at my car at 1:43. They were thorough, but efficient. I highly recommend Galen OBGYN!

My daughter & I both see **Alicia A. Fox.** Her & her staff are so AMAZING at their job!! My daughter was never nervous at her 1st visit or any other’s!! It’s a GREAT feeling to know that you are getting the best care from the best Midwives, OBGYN’s & Nurses down to the Receptionist! My daughter also goes to Galen N. Pediatrics, and I cannot say enough good words to describe her doctor there Dr. Ben Wiley!! Everyone at any Galen office we have been to are just AWESOME!! Thank You for taking such good care of us!!

This place is like a farm--if you like to be a chart on the shelf and shuffled through the system, this is the place for you. The receptionists are incredibly unhelpful; the providers spend less than 5 minutes for appointments and are impersonal; even with scheduled appointments, we waited over an hour to be seen; the financial department and the front desk aren't on the same page. After three visits, we won't be coming back.

I have had positive experiences seeing with Dr Carr, Dr Allen, Dr White and Jaime Sandefur in the past.

They left me sitting in the lobby for over an hour and I told the receptionist that my time is just as valuable as the doctors and I left. Office did not call to apologize, reschedule, or anything else. If they don't have time for new patients, JUST SAY IT! Don't waste peoples time. Galen - DO BETTER!

If you like your time being wasted, I recommend this place.

I highly recommend Dr. Sarah Harris! I have never met such an intelligent doctor. She is so informed about anything I could question. She does a fantastic job and I always feel so comfortable with her. She delivered both of my children via c-section and did a wonderful job. I even moved and drove 2 hours to her just for her to deliver my second child. I now live 5 hours from there and I still drive to see her for my annual each year. There's no doctor I trust more.
