Dr. Phillips has been my doctor for some 10 years now and I would not trust anyone other than him to handle my colon disease. I am high risk with a genetic disease of the colon and he is the leading specialist in the Entire South with the knowledge to treat my illness. When my issue availed itself within my colon some years ago, he immediately diagnosed the problem and has basically saved my life! He always explains where we are with my disease and provides excellent care. I have a procedure annually and he never hesitates to make sure I completely understand what he had to do, why and where I stand at the current time in my disease. It will never be gone and continued yearly procedures are what keeps cancer away in light of the precancerous cells I have all within my colon. I would not hesitate to give him the highest recommendation available. It is an honor to have found him and have him as my Doctor.
Dr.Phillips performed an ERCP on me recently and I immediately felt better! I highly recommend this excellent doctor to anyone for their "GI" needs. SO grateful for Dr.Phillips and his wonderful team at Erlanger!
The only GI I’ve found in town who won’t just order a PPI ad infinitum and wish you well. Sharp physician who will work with you to educate yourself regarding lifestyle changes and non-pharmaceutical options for management of GERD
Excellent bed side manner, had knowledge of rare disease and risk associated with tests/treating which was very impressive, wanted to make sure each step that I felt I was being heard and issues were addressed, felt completely comfortable, safe and health in good care with this great Doctor. :) Had been very nervous to see a G.I. due to issues but I could not have asked for better experience, would send my loved ones to him for best care.
Dr. Phillips is excellent! He took time to explain the procedure and the plan of care. We are very pleased that the Lord orchestrated for him to be our provider. He saved my husband’s life, and He was so caring. He made my husband a priority. I do appreciate his dedication to his patients and their families.
Dr Phillips has canceled 2 surgeries on my sister with in a 3 month period. She was in the hospital in PO for several days waiting for the surgery. HE never came to the room. He sent other doctors to assess her because he decided that he could not do the surgery alone. She has been in and out of the hospital and ER for the past few months with the plan to do the surgery the next day to which he was never seen or heard from. He called in another specialist to insert a tube into her liver so that he could come right behind him and perform the surgery. She was dismissed from the hospital with the drainage tube in her liver. She had to be transported home VIA ambulance. The tube and drainage bag is still there to this day. No other doctor will treat her because of what he has started. She lays and cries in pain. She has to drain her bag several times a day getting 300CC's or more each time. As for his office staff, they are ridiculous!! You call up there and ask when you are scheduled for the procedure and they say that they have no idea. Luckily we have her hospital records and have to tell the Nurse what PAGE to look at and just like that....she magically finds it. Eventhough there is an appt set up they put her off AGAIN and can not give her a for sure date as to when they will see her. I see my sister laying here declining more and more every day. It is time to contact the Tennessee Board of Medicine and consider an attorney. Do your research!! I would hate to see another person/family get treated like this.
our experience was God awful left my husband in surgery and had to go home for a emergency he said after 3 hours he had to be put to sleep the next day and ended up not getting the stone out and left hospital next day got home and his lung collapsed after it was nicked had to be transported back to the hospital to get lung surgery well they came and took him to heart surgery and was going to do heart surgery instead of lung surgery this was a total nightmare he came home with the stone he went to get removed now he is suffering with it again but he is afraid to go to any dr now after that nightmare.he might be a good dr to some but would not recommend him .I am just glad he got out of there with his life worst experience ever.
This doctors office is not a good place..The staff in the office are very rude and do not know how to deal with people..they scheduled a test for my mom and the day befor the test they canceled it and then today she was scheduled for a test and we got to the hospital and they told mom her test was not until tomorrow. They do not know what they are doing its a big inconvenience for my mom she had to miss a day of work to have this test done. This office is so screwed up..dont go to them
He is a great doctor, but ALWAYS runs VERY late. I would recommend him.
DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR. HE has horrible bedside manner cancels appointments without calling actually showed up to two appointments when he decided to just take the day off. Plus left me completely undiagnosed for over a year while my condition progressed insisting that he didn't believe I had a certain condition. I switch doctors on 11/03/2016 and on 11/9/2016 I had one exploratory surgery done that confirmed diagnoses and confirmed that it had actually progressed to the point where now the dama

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
