List of Hitchcock Family Medicine's Reviews
This wasn't the best fit for me at time when I need a diagnosis, and would need countless specialists visits. I just can't afford any of it any longer. I imagine it would be phenomenal for a small family that simply need access to a Dr. for their children. However as a middle aged man whose body is showing all the signs of a life of hard hard hard work, there's not Alot they can do for me there. They are nice and have discounts on blood work, tests, x rays and stuff.
Dr. Litwin and Dr. Torbett are highly compassionate medical providers who will walk alongside you and give you that personal relationship with your doctor that you are missing in the horrible pay-for-service model that plagues modern medicine that keeps people from prioritizing their wellness. Never run out of prescriptions again bc you “couldn’t see your doctor” or pay for the ER or urgent care for something that could’ve been fixed by your primary care doc’s recommendation.

Absolutely the best! Dr. Hitchcock genuinely cares for the health and well being of my family. His model for medical practice is in the benefit for both the patient and provider, and everyone wins! Thankful to have HFM watching over my family.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about these doctors and their offices. As small business owners, uninsured and facing a medical crisis, Dr. Sanders was warm and caring. She did her absolute best to try and solve the medical mystery in the short time under her care. She is knowledgeable and compassionate. This service is the answer to those who are uninsured and feeling like no one cares. I adore and appreciate them.
You can call and be and actually press a number and the doctor answer the phone! That's is not normal for a DR to do.
You and Dr Hitchcock work together to make decisions about your health, without insurance company deciding for you. He is readily available by text, phone, or email-you communicate with him directly. He gets to know you and never rushes you. When I was in hospital, he communicated with me everyday. He goes out of his way to do his best for his patients. When I needed a specialist he got me an appointment with the one I wanted in a very timely manner.
This ended up being a bust for me and my child a couple years back. The initial visit was great. We chatted and discussed things. He was very personable. He told me he was still moonlighting at a clinic a couple of days a week (Thur/Fri) and would not be available those days as his practice was still growing. I was cool with that and went ahead and signed us up. I did mention some abdominal pain at my consultation and he was fairly dismissive. This pain turned out to be my gallbladder, but I suffered for a while longer because I was told in effect...that we just have pain in our digestive systems sometimes. I mentioned it to my next doctor and they got me diagnosed and sorted out pronto. No more pain. Also had my child set up with him. We paid in for a few months. Needed a visit when she was sick and he wouldn't schedule us even though it was on a day he was supposed to be there. She was only mildly ill, so no biggie. Next time I needed him, my child that was having pain in the appendix area and running a mild fever. I texted to see if he could see her to drop in and check it out and was told he was moonlighting that day. This was not one of the days he had told me he'd be working his side job at the walk in clinic. So, I was a little taken back. I had not been informed his availability had changed. He told me to take her to the emergency room. It turned out not to be appendicitis...thank goodness, but I was left with a hefty hospital bill. I joined up Mr. Hitchcock because he preached accessibility and personal care. I wanted to have a close working relationship with my doctor. I was alright with the limitations in terms of his work and personal life schedule as they were laid out in our initial consultations. However, the one time we actually did need to see him badly in person - and he was supposed to be available - he wasn't. I cancelled our membership. It was an expensive lesson all the way around. His service may be more robust now, but between having my medical complaint being brushed off and him not being available when promised - we were definitely not cared for well. I see all these 5 star ratings and I wonder why we didn't see that level of care and attention.
As normally a healthy being... 2020 has brought an array of sickness for me. I’m so thankful for the support from Dr. Smith and Ana! Everyone in the Brainerd office is awesome and I highly recommend this team of physicians!
Dr. Ashley Smith and the crew at the new Brainerd Road location are awesome! Excellent care and communication. Professional phlebotomy & injection skills by the nurse. Welcoming environment and great value.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
