Diagnosed sensory processing disorder, sensory regulatory disorder and expressive language disorder all of which are disorders on the spectrum. He has old school personal beliefs and does not diagnose autism.

Our daughter saw Dr. Cupoli just after she turned 4. We suspected either sensory issues or autism. Dr. Cupoli said no to the autism and referred us to our local school district for evaluation. We ended up doing a private OT eval and 2 years of therapy for SPD. Kindergarten was had and first grade was worse. She teachers insisted on another evaluation. Now, 3.5 years later she has been diagnosed with autism. Interventions have been delayed by half her lifetime because of his misdiagnosis. Now she says she stupid because she doesn't understand why she struggles with things that her classmates don't and is going to have to endure the trauma of switching schools. All because of a diagnosis that came 3.5 years too late.

Dr. Cupoli oversaw my son's global review at 2 years old and again at 4 years old. He was horrible. I knew my son had autism and he told me to go home and discipline my son. His exact words were, "I told you at 2 and I am telling you now at 4 that your son does not have autism." Really??? Guess what? My son was just diagnosed at 9 with Autism. I had to move out of state to finally find doctors that understood Autism all the different levels of autism. Unfortunately, my son never received the help he deserved at an early age and now will probably suffer long term because of it. Without the diagnosis, insurance does not cover the therapy that is necessary to help your child. I suggest finding a different doctor if your child doesn't exhibit the extreme behaviors of Autism.

I was horribly disappointed with Dr. Cupoli. I felt he did not spend enough time with my child and did not care to hear all of my concerns. He gave a very general diagnosis and had us on our way.

Today was my autistic 7 year old son's first appointment with this doctor. He spent alot of time talking to us and providing us with resources that would help us.

We always knew our son had a SENSORY issue but we just did not know WHAT type. Our son had undergone some thourough evals from several teams of professionals, yet we were never quite convinced with their responses. After Dr. Cupoli saw our son, we were able to exhale. We finally had answers and we were FINALLY on the road to appropriate treatment.
