Exhausting…. Called as new patient. Passed to a “referral records” Manager… she approved self referral that same day … told I would get a call back the next week to make an appt from a nurse as she did not work fridays …. Did not get a call…called back a few days later and was told it could take two weeks for someone to call me back to make appt. I said this is crazy. Was told sorry they were doing the best they could. Called Erlanger and made an appt over the phone as a new patient. within 15 mins for two weeks out…. She said she would called me back if Erlanger had a cancellation sooner. She happened to call 15 mins later with an appt two days away…… would be still waiting on Goodmans office . Glad I called Erlanger

In December 1993, I was admitted to Erlanger on an emergency. My esophagus was bleeding and I required an endoscopy for an accurate diagnosis. My Internist at the time called in the best gastroenterologist available in Chattanooga, Dr. Michael Goodman. He diagnosed me with esophageal cancer. Because of his diagnosis I was able to receive the care I needed to survive. His followup care always gave me the feeling that I was his most important patient, even though I wasn't. His bedside manner was always excellent and helped me heal, regardless of my health needs over the insuring years. This happened 28 years ago. I will always be in his debt for helping to save my life and for being one of my best docs I have had during my life.

If you're handicapped, no reason to go there, you better be 100% able, they refused to fill paperwork for my appointment.

Excellent care from LPN Stephanie but front office staff was unprofessional and unhelpful- their lack of action delayed my procedures for almost a month. Office manager Suzanne was rude and unconcerned with finding solutions to the issues, will seek care elsewhere.
