R. Doyle Stulting's Online Review Report Card

Ended up with Dr Stulting following a referral for corneal calcification. I had read many reviews prior to my visit and it seemed that the general consensus was that he was a great doctor but arrogant and condescending. My first visit he entered the room with his entourage and introduced himself. He was reasonably friendly but pretty much to business. At this point I was satisfied. Second visit, he walked in with no greeting, asked me if I had a driver, then proceeded to prep me for a corneal scraping. That time he seemed arrogant, condescending, and someone who was highly stressed fitting many of the reviews I had read. Can't say how good of a doctor he is. The calcification came back and I had it removed by a colleague of his, Dr. Hays, because I refused to go back to Dr. Stulting. It came back following the second procedure as well. I would be very reluctant to ever go back to Dr. Stulting. Not because of his medical abilities but because to me he came across as someone who seemed stressed, arrogant, condescending, and who viewed himself as some sort of a deity.

In my opinion, there is no better cornea specialist in this country. OK, so maybe bedside manner isn't warm and fuzzy, but he cares about his patients and I do trust my cornea issues to him. I'm moving 6.5 hours away, but after 4 years of going to Dr. Stulting, I will do my best to travel back here for an annual checkup and if any further interventions need to be done.

I am certain that he is an excellent, experienced and incredible doctor but to be honest I don't care. He is the rudest man I have ever encountered, is condescending and speaks disgustingly to his students and staff. They all seem to be afraid of him and I certainly felt uncomfortable in his presence. He diagnosed me with cornea erosion but was not really sure and didn't do anything to help me. I went back four times and he seemed to forget who I was and why I was there. No thank you moving on.

Dr. Stulting is an experienced and research -oriented eye surgeon, the best there is for the most complicated of eyes issues. I have a rare connective tissue disorder that complicates any surgery. I needed cataract surgery, but meeting two surgeons who knew nothing about my condition alarmed me. I felt hopeless, and feared I would be blind if I used one for my surgery. Two years later I found Dr. Stulting. After meeting him, I knew he was the one I could trust for my surgeries! Perfect results!

I have a rare collagen disorder that causes complications for any surgery. I needed cataract surgery but was very concerned after meeting with two eye surgeons who did not know about the disorder, nor did they want to learn about it prior to performing my surgery. Alarmed, I spent two years searching for the best eye surgeon available anywhere. When I met Dr. Stulting, I knew immediately he was the surgeon I needed. He performed both of my eye surgeries (one month apart) with perfect results and no complications. 20 months later and I am still thrilled with the results. Dr. Stulting is a Miracle Man!!

I am 80 years of age, had surgery on both eyes this year, for cataracts and Fuch's Distrophey; replacing eye tissue from Georgia Eye Bank. Surgery was done over the summer.. My eye site presurgery, was 20-200, in December, at this writing is 20-40 at the last visit. Dr. Stulting, is my eye doctor, short on words, GREAT on his knowledge and skills. Dr. Stulting was a fantastic choice for me, at this stage of my vision and eye health.

I highly recommend Dr. Stulting. My cataract surgery on both eyes went great and my vision is now excellent. I was very apprehensive about the surgery because I had had a retina tear in each eye in my past. I was referred to this doctor because I feared complications and my optician said Dr. Stulting is the doctor to go to for high risk cases. Under his care I had a very positive outcome. I want to thank Dr. Stulting for being such a skilled physician.

Dr. Stulting doesn't speak much, but he is an excellent Doctor.

Being very concerned about my need to have cataract surgery on both eyes, I delayed for 2 years and interviewed 3 surgeons. Only because I chose Dr. Stulting am I now enjoying perfect vision in both eyes without the need for glasses. The other two surgeons were going to charge me a large amount above the Medicare paid lens, yet I would still need glasses. Dr. Stulting had the expertise and put the effort into giving me the vision I was seeking and at less cost to me.
