My sister went in for bladder removal surgery and Dr maxwell assisted in the surgery. Very disappointed with his team. He left my sister with an open abdomen that several from the health care professions were baffled with. She stayed at Erlanger for 10+ weeks for a 2 week surgery. Her quality of life after the surgery was awful.

Dr Maxwell is an outstanding doctor: knowledge + bed side manner. Also the whole team at Univ Surgical & Erlanger Outpatient Surgery as so competent and sharing and caring. Had a hernia that came occasionally but was a threat to my traveling & exercising lifestyle. Got appt within week, surgery next week, and everyone (like 15+ team members) were great. IMPORTANT: Dr Maxwell is really special and you should not hesitate to use his services if needed. His on the UT Med school faculty and is entrusted to teach the next generatiion of surgeons. So one knows he is on the forefront of the field, and knows how to teach/educate Drs and patients!!!

I was a highly happy patient following my surgery and his staff was great. I felt like I had finally found a kind and competent doctor. He has to keep my equipment repaired that I have and I had to return to him 3 or 4 times now to have it repaired. His staff lied to me this last time and said he was not going to be available for over 2 weeks. I went to the hospital and the hospital told me he had been part of my ER care. He never came down to see me. He came to do my surgery to repair everything and he was very angry with me blaming me for my problems. He sent his associates to speak to me after surgery. It was an awful experience this time. His intial surgery was awesome, but as I said now he hates me for some reason. I am going to find a new doctor to take care of my equipment since he no longer wants to do it. Just take my words into consideration. If you need him for the long run go somewhere else. If you need him for a short period go to him. He is a great surgeon.

Misled IN the written report he lied about two things,how I broke the plates on my ribs and the possibility of rupturing my lung was never discussed,covering his own tail,not to be trusted.
