Stopped husband's meds suddenly My husband was diagnosed with severe anxiety by a doctor at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He was a patient at Cleveland Psychiatric for some time(2 years?). Anyway, he was on a healthy dose of anxiety meds, that was stopped by this clinic. I understand he ran out of meds most months, I guess mental health issues can't really be controlled well. He went to the hospital multiple times, help was never found. This clinic stopped his medicine cold turkey..which is extremely dangerous for benzo meds. My husband list his battle with his anxiety issues and took his life last week. I do not trust this place.

Unless you want to be herded like cows in and out of his office then stay away. He spends less then 5 minutes with you and doesnt even listen to what you have to say and simply not caring about his patients. He is the coldest most uncaring doctor I have ever seen.

I have been to this business over the last 12 yrs and I feel very welcome when I walk in the door. The girls at the front desk are very polite and always willing to help. I would recommend thus place for sure.

Staff is to be said of, hard to get a hold of anyone to check about appt.

He refused to address my mental health needs. He decided alcohol alone was my problem, ignoring that I was self medicating.

I can't give zero stars. I visited for help....What I got was judgement and condemnation from this "doctor." He said I had BPD and when I asked if there was medication for that -he said "NO." Not true! New Dr. has me on meds that are helping.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Newman for ten years & he is the nicest, professional, compassionate, patient, & understanding doctor I have ever seen. I moved an hour away & I still make the drive to see him because he’s better than any doc I could find in Chattanooga. I appreciate him so much & am very thankful for his time & help. I highly recommend him. He & his wonderful staff are the BEST!

I have been a patient of Dr. Newman for one year. My first visit, I felt somewhat apprehensive. I made a few subsequent appointments before deciding to stay with him. I have 20 years of experience with psychiatrists. I am treated for Bipolar 2 and GAD. Having been a patient with a number of psychiatrists, because of relocating, (after having one doctor 8 years), I have found a doctor that I feel I can trust. Our visits take as little or as much time as necessary. He knows the medicines very well, considers my well-being, and respects my feedback.

They never leave an after hours answering service on! And after having to have emergency surgery and canceling an appointment we were told to get ther before 4:30 he would see us for a simple Zoloft prescription we arrived 4:15 a lady walked in her husband had canceled she was going to take his appointment oh they forgot that! So we are told after my husband Took off work we could not be seen! I said I just need to ask him for the refill that’s it they never bothered telling me he called it in set me an appointment up the y’all lady set back there waving and laughing you Do Not Behave this way at any doctors office especially this type and Dr Newman ran out the back foot they made the new appointment after we left called and said they thought it best I find a new doctor probably because I told the big tall girl I’d have her job because I took her picture and I’ve contacted the state RUN Fast if they don’t care to return calls for emergencies you don’t need them

I went to doctor Newman hoping he would be the doctor I needed. Even after reading the reviews I was optimistic that he would be a good doctor. I hoped everything people said was false. But as it turns out, he’s exactly what these reviews say he is. He doesn’t care about you as a person he just wants your money. His staff also doesn’t care about you. They don’t call you when they’re supposed to call back. They won’t even help you with anything unless you come in so they can get more money. If you’re looking for help and want a good psychiatrist please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
