Great primary care provider and a really nice guy. I don't understand these negative reviews some ppl leaving here.
Dr. Gentry has been my doctor for years. Yes, sometimes the office is slow and you wait to see him. Yes, he has many provider changes in his office. However, if you want someone to listen to you, evaluate your health from a holistic perspective and give you one on one provider time - there is no one better than Dr. Gentry. He will help you with your medical needs and challenge you to address your medical health in a proactive manner. He will advocate for you with other providers, specialist, and your insurance company. He is also responsive to emergent needs. He has gone above and beyond with our families medical needs , multiple times.
Use to go to him a year ago. He had his picks who he really wanted to help made me think he were prejudice. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
Great doctor and staff!
My home-bound 94-year-old mother-in-law was experiencing severe hallucinations last Tuesday. Since this could potentially be a life-threatening situation (worsening of kidney disease, UTI, stroke, drug reaction) an in-home blood test and urine sample was ordered and performed on Wednesday. Thursday hallucinations continued but no lab results or phone call. Friday no lab results or phone call. Calls to the Dr office received no response. Now it is the weekend and still no lab reports. Monday will be five days since samples drawn. Does this look like an acceptable standard of care to you?
Dr Gentry is a very smart doctor but very scattered. I’ve been there for years for am ready to change due to his lack of being able to keep good NP’s.....they all leave and you’re left with his followers. I have a hard time getting anything done there and although they seemed concerned, they don’t follow up and he doesn’t bother with your concerns unless they fit his model of how he thinks you should be. He blames everything on the way the insurances have his hands tied and gets frustrated very easily. My first visit had a 5 hr wait and his excuse? He was on an emergency hospice home visit. So I let that go but expect a wait if you go here and the fact that your NP will most likely be gone in 6 months. That speaks volumes in itself
I found Dr. Chet Gentry to be an intelligent, caring physician who truly wants to see his patients to get good healthcare.Donna Simms RN
Told me to go to AA ( I don't drink) and sit down and shut up ! All because I disagreed with him. Once I drove all the way from Crossville to Cookeville only to find out that THEY had cancelled the appt. and called me 15 min before hand. I was already driving and didn't get the message till I got out... Drove all the way home in a very bad thunderstorm. No way to make friends and influence people.
Dr chet gentry id on off the off the list honest helpful dr ive ever met i would highly highly recommend him he will always have a place in my heart when he took care of my mom and life care. I've been going to Dr. Gentry for 5 years. I've never waited for more than 30 minutes, usually less. He has always acted professionally and given good advice. I have a difficult time believing some of these anonymous comments.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
