He has been my PCP for at least 9 years. I would not even consider going elsewhere. He is intelligent,up-to-date on medical breakthroughs,is considerate,understanding,but definitely not a pushover. If you're looking to scam a doctor for pain meds...skip anyone here. They see through it. He is the best doctor I have ever had,and saved my life. One hernia had protruded through my abdominal wall,and he found it and had be rushed to Nashville,because my stomach was in danger of flipping. I had 3 inner hernias was in tremendous pain. This can kill a person. He also discovered the reason for my extreme lethargy and incessant craving for ice...my iron had bottomed out. He is amazing. I thank God for leading me to him and his awesome staff.

Dr. Cates is incredible when it comes to treating his patients. He takes his time, goes over everything, and is open to talk about any problems or anything that needs an extra explanation. True care!!

Dr. Cates Jr. is by far the best Dr. I have ever had. He is so kind with serious situations, yet still gives you the medical advice and treatment that gets your health back on track. We have moved to Ft. Myers, 12 hours away and still are coming back to see Dr. Cates. I know we must find a local PCP, but leaving Dr. Cates is very difficult. He cares more than any other doctor I have ever seen and is very knowledgeable. He has no problem telling you what you need to be doing to improve life.

He is a good christian man and he prays with you. He has a great attitude. I would recommend him to anyone. He spends whatever time that it takes with you to address your specific need.

Dr Cates is very caring physician. Their facility always looks for ways to make wait as short as possible. However, it is difficult to see him with appt as he is so booked. So call early if you want to set up visit. Can always use walk in side of facility. Great place

Dr. Gates is wonderful - he takes his time to listen to your concerns and is a great diagnostician. Additionally, he cares about his patients and ensuring they have access to excellent medical care. I should also add that I myself have worked in the healthcare industry for the past 8 years and I have seen good and bad doctors - this is a fantastic facility.

Dr. Cates is Wonderful! He's very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to you. He talks to you and not at you. His staff on the other hand is terrible. They block you from making appointments with him.
