List of Lisa Lisa Whiteaker's Reviews
Dr Whiteaker is a very caring and thorough physician. I would highly recommend to anyone. I have seen her nurse practitioners and have received excellent care from them as well. She is very knowledgeable and addresses not only your current concerns but also discusses preventative care. Highly recommend!
Gosh, I'm torn about what to think about Dr. Whiteaker. First visit was great, but she referred me to a terrible Mohs surgeon (two plastic surgeons and $3000 out of pocket to repair what he did to my face). Maybe she didn't know how he was, but why refer a patient to a doctor you don't know? And of course, there is no excuse if she did know.) 2nd visit I didn't see Dr W., I saw a PA, but she was also great. 3rd visit, they had the wrong procedure - the PA had said she needed to do a second nitrogen freezing of an area on my face, but they had scheduled me to "discuss options for treatment of the area on your arm". I had been told on the phone that the area on my arm was benign, fine, needed nothing else done, but now it seems that it was pre-cancerous. And then there was Dr Whiteaker's response when I had to leave after waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time, because I had another appointment. (I'm skipping all the details regarding the arrangement I had made with the nurse for this quick, pop-in visit.) The response was "We sometimes have patients who have something else they need to do, and we make every effort to reschedule and accommodate them". Trying to make it my fault for not staying longer, not their fault for not seeing me on time! So annoying. So, as it stands now, I had two good visits, an incorrect diagnosis reported to me on the phone, complete confusion on the area of my face that had one treatment and may or may not need another, and then a defensive, accusatory response when I had to leave after 45 minutes of waiting. But she seemed so concerned and competent the first time I saw her, that I'm honestly not sure what to do. I'm leaning toward starting over and looking for another dermatologist. I can ignore the appointment delay and the snarkiness, but the confusion over diagnoses and then having different treatment plans depending on whether I see the doctor or the PA is worrisome. If you go to see Dr. Whiteaker, the most important advice I can give is not to go to the Mohs surgeon she recommends, a man in Knoxville who has fantastic credentials on paper, but performs an "unnecessarily aggressive" (the words of the plastic surgeon), careless, and very disfiguring wide excision (on a tiny little basal cell cancer!), and not the Mohs procedure you went there for.
I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone, especially anyone with any kind of chronic illness. I took my mother there a couple of days ago, and she has COPD and is on oxygen. She is in the last stage and so she has a very difficult time breathing. When we sign in they told us to have put a mask on. I put a mask on but my mother did not. I explained that she couldn't wear one due to her breathing. Well they came back out and told us that the doctor said that she could wear a mask and it wouldn't affect her breathing but that she refuse to see her without wearing one. Like when she become a lung doctor, it is really sad. Rude and inconsiderate.....we will not be going back
This doctor and her staff stayed after hours and took there time fixing another skin doctors maybe not a great jobs blonders..... This doc and her staff went above and beyond there reg day. Thank You so much. I so very much appreciated there care and concerns...
WORST experience at a doctor's office. REFUSED to give medical treatment, was rude, obnoxious, and quite full of herself. Run as fast as you can AWAY!
This was the worst experience in a doctor's office ever! First, the staff is kind of rude, nobody was there & I still waited 45 minutes to be seen. The attitude the minute I said something. PA acted stupid (eczema) oh what's that??? Let's scrape that off & test it. Seriously, instilled zero confidence. Then upon return to the doctor, I was hoping she'd be better but turns out, even worse! REFUSED ...
Dr Whiteaker is unique in that she doesn’t seem to think that the patient comes first. Her bedside manner is horrible and she strives to take complete control away from her patients…her view is that you submit blindly to her recommendation and don’t bother her with questions to better understand why her method of treatment always leans toward more invasive procedures when compared to her peers. If ...
Initially when I found Dr. Whitaker I saw mixed reviews; however I strive to give my personal business to women in general, so decided to give her a try. I scheduled my first appt. with her and a PA showed up. I asked to see the Dr. and was immediately made to feel like an irrational person. But again, was honest with Dr. Whitaker in how I felt and tried again. Just had my second visit and found her to be the most condescending individual (much less doctor) that I've ever experienced. I am not a fan at all. Did I mention that when I tried to leave the office while she continued speaking to me as if I were a child, she put her hands up as if to physically stop me. My recommendation is to avoid her.
They were great in the begining...farms out to a Dr. In Nashville for surgery...they have a very Rude Staff...My wife didn't get in to her appointment till 45 mins after her appointment...My wife sat in a patient room another 45 min. waiting for the Dr.....My wife called me and said she's still waiting for the Dr.....I asked her staff member. If she came in late 45 min. Late, would they have rescheduled her , she said Yes....Then that same staff member lied and said I was cursing her...COMPLETE LIES!...MY WIFE HAD BEEN going to her for over 8 years....Our Dermatologist believed her over Us....Her Loss
My wife today visited their office to check on her recent hair loss, she was excited to go to their office to figure out exactly what's going on and get to the issue. The doctor didn't pay attention to her and seems that she doesn't care and in hurry. Literally my wife was asking all the questions and the doctor was just jumping to conclusions and not offering any solid medical advice and wanted my wife to leave. She didn't do any further investigation or go further to help. My wife ended up paying money for nothing. Obviously hair loss is not a priority to them although the front desk lady specifically mentioned they treat that. Terrible job - poor human element interaction and no medical advice when it comes to hair loss. Worthless visit

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
