List of Thuy Thuy Ngo's Reviews
10 years ago I experienced a long bout with periodic memory loss. I had gone to another neurologist who only made my condition worse. Instead of finding out what was causing the problem all he wanted to do was keep giving me pills. By the time I quit him I was taking 15 different pills and was getting worse. I was told about Dr. Ngo and I was so glad I went to him. In my opinion he is an absolute genius. He treated me (it would take too long to tell all testing and evaluating that was done),, but he actually cured me. I am now 81 years of age and have not have any repeat episodes. He is also a doctor that doesn't believe in relying solely on pills. He is also very caring about his patients.
Dr. Ngo takes his time with each patient. Sometimes you have to wait awhile, but you know he is going to spend time with you when you do get in to see him. If not for him, I don't know where my health would be. He found issues that other doctors did not. Some of them could have been serious if not caught in time.
Dr. Ngo was an answer to many prayers! We have been seeking help for our daughter for a long time, and he is the first health professional who addressed all of our concerns and provided us with answers. He took time to listen and asked if we had any more questions. He was kind, compassionate, thorough, and wise! I also appreciated his Office letting us know to come an hour later, since he was running behind. This is a courtesy we had not experienced before. I give Dr. NGO and his staff my highest recommendation!
I was having severe neck pain, sudden onset, unresolved. Made an appointment with Dr. Ngo and was able to see him in 2 days. He injected my neck that day and relieved the pain, plus lab tests to determine the ultimate cause, which led to a definitive cause and further treatment. Prior to seeing Dr. Ngo, I had been to my pmp 3 times and spent a day in the ER at UT hospital in Knoxville, and the only solution was pain pills, every 4 hours, day and night, with no real relief of pain. I am so thankful that Dr.Ngo knew what to do and gave me some immediate pain relief, and I have been pleased with his caring manner and his follow-up as well.
Very thorough and easy to understand diagnosis.
I am highly disappointed with the care I have received from Dr. Gno. The office staff was fine, but you could tell they work in an irritating environment and are super busy. My wait time to see Dr. Gno was a little over two hours, but he spent an hour and a half with me. I was told to expect this, so no big deal. I was referred to him by another specialist and had already tested positive for a condition that is necessary for a neuro disease diagnosis. The first specialist had failed to send my records that showed this positive test result. I explained what they had found to Dr. Gno and he replied, "oh he probably just told you that so as not to hurt the referring physicians feelings." This struck me as highly unprofessional. He also continued to dismiss every symptom I have, stating that "I was expecting a really fat woman in here, but you are not fat enough to have this." He continued on about the fact that I am of Cherokee blood, an assumption he made based off of my skin color, and all of the medical issues I will have. At the end I opted for the only test that could prove whether or not I do have the condition I was referred for. He told me I could have it done, but that it would come back negative. I went against his advisement, and it did come back with high, positive numbers. Dr. Gno refused to acknowledge that I am textbook all the way down with this disorder and to give me a diagnosis. Instead, he diagnosed me with migraines even though I told him I didn't have them. He also refused to give me a second opinion referral. I have never in my life met a doctor as arrogant as this man. I had high hopes that he really was as good as he seems to think he is. If you are looking for a doctor to find the root cause of your condition instead of throwing medicine to treat symptoms at you, this is not your guy! He refused to listen to me, made assumptions about my medical history, diagnosed me based on a migraine episode I had 10 years ago, dismissed other physician findings, dismissed confirmed tests, and cannot handle a patient questioning his diagnosis.

best neurologist you could ever ask for, you may have to wait but you do have to wait for perfection.
First, the wait time is at least 45 minutes, then another 30 minutes sitting in exam room. He finally arrived, asked many questions of a political nature, then personal questions which did NOT pertain to my health. Very arrogant and intrusive on all the wrong levels. When he prescribed a medication, I took it to my physician and was informed that the dosage was so high, It could have very well been fatal. Thank God that I hadn't trusted him, thus had not taken the meds.....disposed of them ASAP.
I love Dr. Ngo! Not only has he helped me, he's helped my family!! He's caring and is concerned for everyone's well being. He will talk to you for hours if that means it will satisfy your needs! I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
