List of Candace Thompson's Reviews
I've been a patient of Dr. Thompson for almost 10 years. I thank God for her!!!!!!!
No communication when her office relocated and my mother’s insurance was no longer accepted. We have called and left messages for over 3 weeks for my mother’s medication. Still no call back. This is horrible!!!!!
I can't believe that she doesn't have a 6-12 month waiting list. She's just great person overall
I was in desperate need of seeing someone and found this office online. I called immediately and they were able to set an appointment for the next day. Doctor's offices make me very nervous, but everyone was so nice and made me feel comfortable. I didn't have to wait long at all. Dr. Thompson was very caring and actually listened to everything that I had to say, unlike other doctors. I could tell that she really knows her stuff. I am so glad that I found her and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to anyone looking for a genuine psychiatrist.
To be clear, I never actually saw Dr. Thompson. I completed the paperwork (twice) and became concerned that this office specializes in addiction disorders. This was not what I needed. Still, the appointment was set, so I decided to move forward until my appointment arrived and I learned that 1. With my HDHP insurance plan, my visit was around $250 and 2. The doctor requires a drug test before she even sees you. I'm completely drug free, but given that we hadn't even met, she did not know what my issues are and had not even begun to consider medication, I felt it was premature, invasive, and diminished a relationship that hadn't even begun. I realized after leaving and talking to a friend in the field that this specialty (additction treatment through suboxone) is common in this area, and the office charges are extraordinarily high compared to general psychiatrists. The office staff was not friendly nor helpful in communicating, and I decided this isn't the right office for my needs.
Does anyone know where Dr. Thompson’s new office is?
Dr. Thompson is the nicest, kindest, most down-to-earth doctor I have ever seen. She always spends at least 30 minutes with me and really cares about my recovery. Also, extremely hard worker and very ambitious. In addition, her staff has always treated me well. I just cannot believe some of the hurtful comments about her personal character. As I mentioned, extremely meek and kind person.
Dr Thompson is an excellent psychiatrist. She had education concern for patients than most Drs. There seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding about her practice. She did not relocate her office- she left Healthquest and is a part of a new medical group. She talked about her disappointment that she can no longer accept some insurances at the new office. Dr T truly cares about her patients. She told me her office has offered to continue to see those patients from her old office for a greatly reduced fee. Healthquest has also offered to schedule her old patients with a new doctor. She does not work for free just like none of you would. There are community mental health centers in Memphis if you cannot afford to see someone in private practice.
She's very caring and attentive. She is the best Dr. I've ever had.
No communication when her office relocated and my mother’s insurance was no longer accepted. We have called and left messages for over 3 weeks for my mother’s medication. Still no call back. This is horrible!!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
