Thomas Chu's Online Review Report Card

Dr Chu keeps things quick, simple, and 100% honest. I've been seeing him since high school. He has helped me with various issues over the years.

There is a perfect dermatologist in this town....and his name is Dr. Thomas Chu. He is the absolute best.

I asked Dr. Chu to look at a new and rapidly growing spot on my face and he pretty much refused. It did have some warning signs of skin cancer, but he didn’t listen when I tried to tell him. I went to a different dermatologist who biopsied it and it is skin cancer. This was very upsetting to me. Maybe he was having a bad day, but his demeanor was rude, upsetting, and insulting. I will not be going back.

My dad had a lot of skin cancer and Dr. Chu worked on him for at least 25 years. He passed away at 93. I have been going for about 15 years. Dr. Chu does a great job. For people like me who have significant skin cancer issues and require occassional Mohs surgery it is so nice to have a dermatologist who is also a highly qualified plastic surgeon which greatly minimizes scarring. He tells you like it is. It is up to you to take it seriously. I VERY highly recommend him.

Dr Chu and his entire staff provided me with the best quality care and procedures. During the summer of 2020 I had to undergo two separate surgical procedures on my face for skin cancer. I was very concerned about the work to be done. Dr Chu and his staff tried to alleviate all of my fears. Their concern and compassion were extraordinary. They were kind and empathetic. Their skills in caring were matched if not exceeded by Dr Chu's expertise in workmanship. The skin cancer was removed and the results of the surgery are almost non-detectable. I couldn't have been happier with the treatment I received there and I would never hesitate to go back. I would recommend Dr Chu for all of my family and friends. Some of the other ratings and remarks that are disparaging are in no way indicative of anyone I ever came into contact with nor reflective of any iota of service I received from Dr Chu and his excellent staff. I've been to plenty of doctors. I wish they could all be Dr Chu's.

This guy told my girlfriend that it would be a very simple procedure, but it wasn’t he actually caused her a lot of pain and didn’t seem to be concerned about it. She asked to be put asleep during the procedure, but he denied her that. We’re never coming back and we will probably sue!

Avoid this physician for any surgical procedure. The staff is rude, he has no anesthesiologist on staff, and they do not manage pain, even on the day of, or immediately following surgery. The doctor also told me that the removal of this "pre-melanoma" would not leave a scar. Later, when I was having the surgery, he said that it would leave a scar. And although he formerly said it was not a melanoma, the day of the surgery, he later stated that it was on the melanoma spectrum. The surgery room serves as a make-shift office, with computers and paperwork in the room, and the surgical gurneys shock you if you touch the metal. At least three people in the office were not wearing masks or any other PPEs.
