I am a patient of Dr. Cape's. They have an outstanding staff from front to back. Very caring-kind-courteous-professional!!! Dr. Cape is an outstanding ophthalmologist. During the covid-19 pandemic they have gone above and beyond to keep everyone safe and feel comfortable with their visits.

I want to share my experience at Cape Surgery Center.... I have been a patient at Dr. Cape’s for several years and i hold him and his staff in the highest regard. I have an insight that most people don’t have as I also work at Cape Surgery Center. I have seen him day in and day out treat his patients and staff with the utmost of respect and compassion. I have seen grown men weep in recovery as they “see” things that they haven’t been able to see in years. I see how meticulous he is and the way our staff goes above and beyond to make every outcome a success. I tell people all the time that “yes, he is an amazing doctor but more importantly....he is a good, kind man”. I don’t think those two traits always go hand in hand. I am thankful for all he does and continues to do for our community. I worked for a not for profit for many years (in my previous life) and I know what a servant leader is and Dr. Cape humbly fits the criteria. I love that people drive from all over to our small town to see us! It just makes me smile to see Shelby and Madison County and out of state tags in our parking lot. Yea, that’s right...it’s worth the drive!

I suffered an eye injury and needed cataract surgery. Because of the quickly-growing cataract and trauma to my eye, the surgery that I needed was more difficult and complex than the average cataract surgery. After asking around for people's recommendations about which ophthalmologist would be knowledgeable and skilled enough to perform this complex surgery, I was advised to seek the services of Dr. Richard Cape. The surgery went very well, and I was impressed by Dr. Cape's utmost professionalism, courtesy, skill, and expertise. I had been suffering from this eye injury for years, and I am so grateful to find an ophthalmologist like Dr. Cape who exhibits the highest qualities of professionalism and compassion for his patients. Dr. Cape has provided me with relief from a devastating eye injury and has restored to me a quality of life that I did not believe would ever be possible again in my lifetime. When I eventually need cataract surgery performed on my other eye, I will definitely be using Dr. Cape to perform the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Cape to anyone who needs eye surgery.

Dr Cape & the entire staff are excellent!! He is the sweetest caring & most professional doctor out there. I would not trust anyone else w/my eyes. He did cataract sx on my mother in law, stepfather & mother & they had excellent experiences. Will always see Dr Cape!!
