List of William James's Reviews
He calls himself a mental health specialist yet he is neither a psychiatrist nor a psychologist. He offers medical opinions about children in areas clearly outside of his expertise that he is clearly not qualified to give opinions. When parents disagree, he will listen to one parent's observations and then state that they are his own observations.
This doctor only knows how to push medication and brag about himself. He is out of touch with current research and does not want to accept any other types of treatments other than medications. He even has the audacity to tell my child whom at that time is only 10 years old that his life has no future, he will fail school and that he is going to be a drug addict and end up on the streets because his parents did not agree to the medication he was trying to push. This doctor has a one track mind and that is drugs can fix everything.
Oh my god...Dr. James is a Saint and Pam an Angel from heaven. I adopted my 2 kids together....alot of issues. Their medication was prescribed very professional ly .Dr. James was my children's doctor for 10 years. If l needed to see Dr. James right away Pam always was accommidating and she cared. I'm grateful you were both part of our life. My kids are both adults now and lm so proud of them how far they have come...but thanks to Dr. James.
Dr. James has been treating my daughter who has GAD and ADHD for several years and he is amazing with her. The way he speaks with her at the appointments is amazing, he makes her feel like he is genuine and interested in her and she is a great person. But he has a way of giving her advice on her behaviors that is not threating and she is a terrible person for her actions. He has listened to my concerns and modifies medications based on my observations and concerns. He does not push all meds and has said more than once he wants to keep the meds low and do the real work in therapy and has worked on a plan with us to remove meds that were added to get thru COVID. He has met with my daughter's phycologist so they are on the same page and has offered to talk with her school on best how to accommodate her.
My son, now 12yrs, has been seeing Dr James since he was 4yrs old. Dr James was quick, at every visit to mention how he is the head of adhd statistics at CHEO and toot his own horn. About 2yrs ago we went to a follow up appt and he was mentioning to me if we have contacted this autism group. My child has not been diagnosed with autism but every appt after this he kept mentioning that he is autistic. Dr James sent my son for a psychological ecucational assessment. This assessment ended up being over 80 pages long. Dr James flat out told me he has no email to send it to and doesn't have the time to read it either. How professional is that? If he would have read it he would have realized that he is not autistic but has 4 other diagnosis. I an not comfortable sending my son to an incompetent Dr that just keeps adding and adding meds and doesn't take the time to accurately read results (that he referred us to) to accurately medicate. I was constantly complaining about his weight gain and how he never feels full. After seeing a new Dr we have realized that 2 of his 4 meds are not supposed to be prescribed together and those 2 meds make him want to eat constantly. The combination he was on did not work at all and was constantly changing doses. I know there is no miracle pill but nothing ever worked. He would also not follow up with our family Dr so she had no clue how to help us when needed either. The only letter that Dr James sent to our Family Dr was when my son was initially referred and was basically a thank you for your referral letter. This is the most incompetent Dr I have ever seen and truly hope he retires soon. He clearly should not be medicating ANYONE!! And don't even get me started on his secretary leaving her rude voice-mails.
He was my doctor from a young age , when I was around 7 he gave me meds . My parent frequently would go back and complain my perceptions were not enough by the time I was 10 I had 3 different prescriptions. Now that I am an adult I do not remember most of my childhood. I have ADHD and Anxiety and after over 15 years I have little but some improvement, I can genuinely say as an adult one on one doctor he’s quite alright , but as a child he really wasn’t good at telling my perceptions were too much. and I actually quite like Pam the secretary to everyone else complaining about that.
Dr James is a caring, knowledgeable doctor that doesn’t miss a beat. He’s been seeing my children for 8 years and we feel so lucky to have him on our team! Highly recommended
This doctor is terrible. He knew my dad was a single parent and struggling with 3 children and didn't offer any help. My dad later found out from a friend with a disabled child that they got help when she asked about it. He has this knowledge and didn't even let my dad know and I am disabled too. Real slimy.
As some other women have stated. I was under the care of this doctor as a child. He use to take my mother into a separate room in the office, always thought it was weird. My mother always left upset, she told me he had been inappropriate with her sexually. He may have been a good dr to me but hearing other mothers speak out, made me want to share my experience as well. Also when I turned 18 the office did nothing to help ensure my treatment would be continued with a dr who isn’t a paediatrician through my secondary education.
Dr James has been treating my 5 year old daughter for ADHD and I can’t say enough good things. She is doing so incredibly well and I am so grateful for his knowledge, compassion, and understanding. We are lucky to have been referred to him. His receptionist has been nothing but kind and accommodating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
