List of Accentcare Hospice & Palliative Care-Greater Nashville's Reviews
Good care from nurses and staff. It a very difficult time and they all were very professional and kind. Things have change over the past few years and this is a top hospice in the area.
These people are a joke. The nurse flat out lied saying they called the doctor and left a message when I clearly saw and heard him hang up without leaving a message. He told me on the phone when calling to basically call again when my MIL passed to come pronounce her.
My dad has ALS and Accentcare did next to nothing to help him, he was extremely neglected by them. My dad has a huge bedsore that was never looked at or treated by them. Don’t use this company.
Worst service.
I used Guardian Hospice for my mom, who had dementia and was within the last four weeks of her life. Within 24 hours of hiring them, I started looking for another company. The only reason I decided to stay with them was that my mom did not have many weeks remaining, and I feared her care would suffer if I switched to another company. Let me start by saying her nurses (Angela and Leah) as well as her CNA (Betty) was professional and helpful when they visited. However, those in leadership especially Michelle and Rebecca, I found very unorganized and unwilling to sincerely help. Beware of Adam, salesmen for the company. He is longwinded and does not listen well. He promises a seamless transition from hospital to home, which did not happen. Upon my mom's discharge, the hospice company was not ready. She did not have the proper medications. My family had to go to four different drugstores to acquire all the necessary prescriptions. Days later, my husband had to make several calls to pharmacies in the area trying to find medicines because Guardian kept telling us “They could not find the proper medications." Another example of disarray, the first night a nurse came to the house, the organization had given her the wrong number; it was a combination of my number and my aunt's number. How does that happen? Another example, at one point, I made them aware that my mom had a yeast infection from the antibiotics consumed in the hospital. It was obvious. It took several calls to get my mom the proper medical attention. Please note that you cannot speak with the NP (Stacy), who is prescribing medications. I asked after it was clear that my mom, would was suffer from this infection, was not getting the proper medical attention she needed after a couple of days. Days later she was given medication. It should not take that long when someone is on hospice and under comfort care. I am thankful that I am a registered nurse with nurse friends that I could call on during this time. I feel for the average person caring for a loved one without a medical background. Upon my mom's death, I heard from one person, Betty, who was her CNA. Betty texted me her condolences. I never heard from their social worker, Carrie, or the chaplain (name unknown since I never heard from them). I never heard from any of her nurses (Angela, Leah), which honestly shocked me. I did receive a condolence card two weeks later in the mail from someone named Steve. Who is Steve? For the sake of brevity, I have left out a lot that transpired in the four short weeks my mom was with this hospice organization. All that to say, please shop around. I didn't. Honesty, all hospice companies might be like this now, but I hope if you go with Guardian Hospice, your experience is better than ours. Update: After posting this review, I received a "check-up" text message from Lyn Carr (not sure who this person is or their role at Guardian) on September 10, 2021. My mom passed away in July. I give them a zero. They are very unappreciated to their staff. They cannot keep field nurses nor can because of such poor management. The women managers will purposely make this job the worst thing that ever happened to a nurse. They lie to the patients
Guardian Hospice was wonderful with our mother. They were very professional, caring and efficient. Mom was is a memory care facility so we were unable to visit her for months due to COVID. Especially during this time, the hospice aid and nurse were excellent in keeping us informed on how our mom was doing and in insuring she was getting everything she needed. I highly recommend Guardian Hospice, they were a perfect family partner during Mom's decline and death.
Our family would highly recommend Guardian Hospice! They guided us through the hospice process and experience so wonderfully and we're so fortunate that our grandmother had such good care in the comfort of her own home. The nurses, bath aides, social worker and chaplain were genuinely caring and were very professional. Grandma enjoyed their visits immensely and was treated with such dignity and respect at all times. Our grandma passed away peacefully at home and we consider Guardian to be our family as they shared so much of their time in our home and made grandma to feel that she mattered to the very end. We cannot thank everyone at Guardian Hospice enough for all you did. Thank you and may God continue to bless you when serving those in need.
The nurse that they sent out is very unprofessional. She gave her personal option with out being ask and She pushed religion off on to the family. Its not the place of any health care provider to do either. It would be one thing if we asked her or if she was a close family friend, but I think that would also be a conflict of interest like operating on your own family member. Get your act together. Train your nurses better.
