Barbara Olson Md's Online Review Report Card

My husband pulled my son out of school to go to his appt and had never been there before. Accidentally went to the wrong office. Immediately went to the other office and was told to leave because he was 2 min late. It's a 50 min drive for us. They marked him as a no show and told him to leave. Not to mention she isn't very personable or polite. Very condescending and rude.

So disappointed to find out that my daughter saw Dr Olsen for 7 years and was misdiagnosed and mismedicated for at least 3-4 of those years. So thankful we were told she was retiring so we could get a proper diagnosis ! Beware !! She’s still practicing

Dr. Olson med with us because my 8 month granddaughter was having seizures. We had been to Vandy and spent a week there. Vandy is wonderful but we needed more time with a doctor and more info. Pediatrician recommended Dr Olsen and she is incredible. She made everyone feel at easy, understand the disease and assured us she would help us get thru this. She spent over an hour with us answering our crazy questions and we never felt like we were being hurried thru and out the door. Great doct

Did not respond to emergency call for over a week. very disappointed. will not be back.

Where to begin. Takes 3-4 months to get in to see Dr. Olson, probably because she only holds office hours 2-3 days a week. After seeing Dr. Olson she prescribed medication for my son which we gave him reluctantly (I am a pharmacist). After 3-4 weeks on medication my son developed Tourette's like symptoms and at this point we weened him down off of the medication. We did not call Dr. Olson at the time, because based on her office policies we wouldn't have been surprised if we were charged per minute on the phone to talk with her. When we came back for next visit and explained the situation she agreed with what we had done...and then prescribed more medication. Another visit needed to be scheduled after that appointment (of course) which we didn't make because it was 3 months from the previous visit. The office does not make courtesy calls to remind you of appointment. We missed the appointment frankly because we completely forgot about it, which was our fault, but it was also a difficult time because my family was dealing with a dying family member. The office promptly sent me a bill for 50.00 for missing the appointment which when questioned they stated that was policy and it was our fault. They explained they don't make courtesy phone calls. Pretty ironic that they don't have time to make courtesy phone calls or send letters, but that bill goes out the door right on time. We will never be seeing Dr. Olson again and will make sure that the patients that I deal with keep away from her and her office as well as friends that are looking for help for their children. This office is all about the money, really could care less if they are helping your child or not. I understand it's a business and people don't do it for free, just try and act like you care about the patients if you are going to collect their money.

Granted I dropped the ball and forgot that she only takes cash or check. Waited for months to have my child seen by Dr. Olson. My husband took time off for the appointment, and once he got there was asked for the co-pay. Only had a credit card. I have excellent insurance btw. Dr. Olson would not see my son for his ADD. A child who needs help, and was turned away due to a $40 dollar copay, which inturn she would have made a lot more for a new patient consult, all over a copay (which I am certain a lot of people opt to be billed... wasn't even an option). How unethical that a physician would put money over a child's welfare, and for the record, I am in the healthcare industry as a physician auditor, so I know what kind of money they are making (especially in her field). Would not recommend going there, if you want a physician who cares about your child!!

Easy to get in to see, but very fast visit, and inaccurate diagnosis. Was the diagnosis to get us to visit her again so she could make more money, or was she just that bad. I don't know, but will never go back. Some people should not be doctors and Dr. Barbara J Olson is one of those people.

She may only be after getting you to come back for another visit. I don't see any logic in what she did, unless she is just after the money. STAY AWAY!!!!

There are good doctors and bad doctors. This one is bad.

She is an absolute gift from God.
