List of Byron J. Schneider's Reviews
My experience with this doctor was awful from the moment he entered the room and plopped down in his chair all slouched as if he were about to watch a movie. He was uninformative, condescending and arrogant. He is better suited as a ski instructor in winter and white water rafting guide in summer. He is not there for the betterment of his patients. I would never allow him to stick a needle ANYWHERE in my body, especially my neck! So many negative comments dating back to 2018. I don't understand why he is still staffed at Vanderbilt Health.
I haven’t been to many or any other pain doctors but I felt like Dr. Schneider was great. I was a few minutes late because of the horrible parking situation but he spent more than enough time with me. I felt like he was honest and thorough. He followed up the same day with a note addressing my concerns. I give him an A+
All that I expected and more. Dr. Schneider listen carefully to me describe my physical condition since the epidural and the frustration I am experiencing with very limited activity. Since I have no pain, only numbness and weakness in my thigh, he suggested a EMG which will determine the extent of nerve damage. He also is giving me a referral to a neurosurgeon for another opinion. I couldn’t be more pleased with the time he spends with my, his thoroughness in answering questions and letting me know what he would do if he was in my place.
I have seen Dr. Schneider twice and neither experience was anything like the ones described here. He was pleasant, attentive and patient. I didn't feel rushed or as if he would rather be someplace else. Think it's important to mention, Dr.'s are humans so they have off days, trouble sleeping, family issues, etc.. and sometimes no matter how hard we try, our personal life can spill over into our professional one and we have a bad day...as I mentioned-human. So maybe he had off days, maybe you were in pain and no Dr. would have been good enough-I don't know, but I do know that I try not to judge someone based off a one time, 15 minute encounter-especially when I am not feeling 100%. I'm having my 3rd (and not final I'm sure) visit with Dr. Schneider Monday. I have recommended him to family and friends and will continue to do so.
I echo all of the above comments. He walked in the room and asked why I was standing. I said because I’m in pain and it’s too painful to sit. Between yawns he talked about how he could give me something for pain. As we were walking out the door he told me about my herniated disc and how I need to make an appointment for an epidural procedure. This was the fastest drs appointment with the most tired, cocky dr I have ever seen. Good luck getting him to ever call you back....
My orthopedic doctor suggested I see a pain management specialist in his orthopedic practice for back pain so I made my appointment with the office staff. I should have been suspicious when the staff said you should see Dr. Schneideryou can get in to see him right away. Dr. Schneiders demeanor was disinterested and dismissive. The whole visit was confusing and rushed and I felt like the doctor had no sympathy for my level of pain. It did not appear that he had reviewed my records from my orthopedic doctor. I did my research AFTER the visit reading other peoples reviews on Healthgrades. Thirteen reviews reflected EXACTLY the nature of my visit so his aloof disinterested unsympathetic demeanor must be a pattern. I also looked at his resume online and he has been published frequently but has minimal experience treating patients. This doctor belongs in academia not dealing with patients. This doctor WILL NOT be performing a spinal epidural on me.

He's very cocky and would not explain my test results and grabbed the test paperwork from me and threw them down on his desk and said I would not understand them. I said that's why I'm her so you could tell me but did not. Just told me what he was going to do and put injection in my neck and scheduled it.. But the day before it was to be done, it was canceled since he wasn't found to speak to my insurance for them to approve procedure. He's an is so bored the yawning and and not paying attention to me at all. He gets a Big O!

Arrogant demeanor and yawned the whole time. Would never go back to him. Would give 0 if possible. Posting this for my husband.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
