List of William Bell Md's Reviews
I wish I could give zero stars. This man is far from a professional, he's a complete and total joke. "Appointments" with him are essentially him telling you all about everything going on in his life with no help whatsoever. He routinely brings up religion in a professional setting and even tried to ask me if I was "saved". His "method of care" is to dispense prescriptions and schedule a follow-up so you can listen to more of his rambling about his life. The office staff is very unprofessional. They disclosed details of my appointment to my place of work who called the office trying to reach me. Please, find somewhere else to go. This man is the opposite of helpful, in fact, I would go as far to say he causes harm
poor follow up and lack of continuity of care after prescribing high risk medications to a high risk family member.
I’m writing this review to warn future patients of the terrible experience we had with Dr. Bell’s office. Unfortunately, it appears the office manager ran off all the good office staff and Medical professionals. The office staff turned over at least 3 times in the last year. Multiple phone calls would go unanswered and unreturned. I had to escalate on multiple occasions regarding the safety of new meds recommended by Dr Bell and the adverse effects it was having on my child before I ever could get a call back to address it. Even then Dr. Bell didn’t address it properly. The office manager will also try to charge any credit card they can find that you have used in the past without your permission for random made up charges without any explanation. Very unethical and unprofessional in my opinion. My recommendation is don’t fall for the false narrative on the website about “God’s Creatures” and actually find a Doctor’s office that cares about their patients.
This office has terrible customer service. I had a minor see Ann and she does not respond to questions by phone at all and an email has to be sent through her assistant and it takes a week for a reply. In addition her replies were extremely rude. I would not recommend this place at all. I'm shocked at how we were treated by this office.
Anne Meade helped change my life and I am so thankful I was able to work with her. She is amazing. She really listens to you and genuinely wants to help improve people's lives and is very caring. She was so comforting to talk to. If I hadn't had an insurance change I would 100% stay with her!
I have been with Dr. Bell for a number of years. He also has seen my family in the past. Very bad experiences since I was a child. I will first say Dr. Bell is not a psychiatrist to see if you are not religious. He will always bring up religion whether you are religious or not. Now on to the rest of my review: 1) No regard for your time. He is always at least 10 minutes late, if not 30 or 45 minutes late. 2) Was never listened to because a parent was more believable in my earlier sessions. 3) Uses the same talking points explaining how our bodies/minds react to things like I haven’t been in therapy for 10 years. 4) I have expressed certain medications don’t seem work and the only option I’m really given is to up the dosage, or go back to other medications that don’t work. 5) Awkwardly brings up his personal issues - even with his wife working the front desk - to relate to my own. 6) I have consistently put down certain symptoms on the questionnaire that are never brought up. 7) Seems more interested in hearing about my family than me. 8) Seems to try to peg my bad family relationships onto my mental health. Not that my mental health is stemming from my bad family relationships. Suffice to say, I am currently looking for a new psychiatrist and will not be back.
Anne Meade is the. best. psychiatric nurse practitioner. She’s so relatable, down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and helpful!! Makes you feel so comfortable, heard, understood, and is very easy to reach + schedule a quick appointment with.
I have been going to Dr. Bell many years and he is a wonderful caring doctor.
$10 per minute LOL...They don't do that to me. I don't believe you. 5/5 stars
Dr. Bell and staff are extremely professional and welcoming. Now that they're self-operated again, almost all of the issues that you see in previous reviews from a year prior to this review have been fixed. For a period in late 2017 - 2018, his office was partnered with the Nashville Center for Hope and Healing, which was an absolute disaster. They were rude, never billed correctly, and worst of all, violated HIPAA, specifically the Security Rule, by accessing my patient and billing data to cover someone else's appointment cost. That is purely the fault of NCH&H, and Dr. Bell has parted ways with that organization due to all of the problems they were causing for his patients (as well as himself). Dr. Bell is attentive and provides good general insight into human behavior. His practice is somewhat Christian faith-based, and he will probably talk about God and His plan (specifically that humans are imperfect, and we do not know the mind of God) during your appointments. I am agnostic, but can appreciate the sentiment of his message. That being said, he also has a firm grasp of the science of psychiatry, and does not attempt to persuade you into any belief system, and he does not let his effect your treatment plan. He does tend to repeat himself from appointment to appointment, but only because there's only so much that a psychiatrist can do. They cannot cure or fix your illnesses, they can only try to treat them to the best of their ability, and Dr. Bell does an excellent job of that. He does not over-prescribe medication, and is very attentive to any concerns or feedback you have regarding your treatment. He works with you to find the right medications and dosages that work for you, and does not have a "one size fits all" treatment plan. Speaking from personal experience, the repetition seems to stem from a place of trying to explain the symptoms that you are describing. If you come in suffering from the same issues as you were in your last appointment, he will probably repeat a few talking points to try to explain why your mind is reacting that way. It is important to delineate a psychiatrist from a therapist. Dr. Bell is the former; he prescribes medication to help manage your symptoms. He does not (and rightfully so) attempt to be a therapist because that is not his practice. However, he can refer you to a list of very good local therapists that will take the time to listen and help you develop coping mechanism and heal. Psychiatry and Therapy are two critical pieces of mental health treatment. Neither alone is as effective as the combination of both.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
