Gary Carr's Online Review Report Card

Dr Carr is one of the best doctors I know! He has saved my life and been a great mentor. The people that criticize him probably didn't hear what they wanted so bashing him is the best they can do. I personally think he is a great man and doctor and will continue to see him religiously.

Now that I have a new psychiatrist, I have the experience to explain how unprofessional Dr. Carr is. He has not been my doctor in about a year so maybe he has changed, but here is my experience with him: When I was 18, I started getting into helping myself and mental health. Being so young, I didn’t know what was good and bad in psychiatry. However, I found out. Between telling me I was wrong about my experiences, misdiagnosing a SLA, and being put on medicines that hurt my mental health, didn’t help it. Now I will give credit where it is due. At first, we both didn’t know what medicine I should be put on. I was on some when I started seeing him, but was not “getting better”. I was put on anxiety medicine and SSRIs that didn’t work and in fact, hurt the experience more. When I expressed this to him, he CONTINUED putting me on these types of medicine. I wasn’t always able to get ahold of him when things went wrong, while my psych now is ALWAYS available. That was my last straw, being put on medicine after I said it wouldn’t help, and I got more SI than before the medicine. I was young, and he made me feel stupid about my own mental health. He may be great with other people, but he didn’t respect my boundaries and talked down to me. All this to say, if you are a young female look for someone else. He did not care about my mental health at all, and it was his job to at least pretend to. Dr. Carr if you see this, do better. I know you can, but you chose not to.

Gives professional opinion whether you like it or not which is the kind of doctor I prefer.

This man has a terrible reputation as a psychiatrist. Rude comments towards women patients weight. Very unprofessional. Very rude. This man should have never achieved his position as a psychiatrist if he is doing the opposite of what his profession calls for. This man should be fired and stripped of his title as a psychiatrist since he clearly doesn’t realize how his rude comments can cause pain towards his patients.

HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Carr he made someone close to me feel awful about herself and treated her terribly. DO NOT go here if you are wanting to get better. He is a major creep to young women and doesn’t deserve his job. I hope he gets fired for the way he treats women. I hope you are reading this Dr. Carr because you are an awful person for what you said to her.
