List of Clyde Southwell's Reviews
Run from this doctor's office as fast as you can to someone who actually cares. The entire staff and doctor are completely incompetent. Please read the reviews!
My Dr. referred me to Dr. Southwell & ordered a CT scan. Dr. Southwell ignored my Dr.s order & said he will not do CT scan & only wanted to give me an inhaler which my Dr already gave me & wanted to talk about sleep apnea & allergies. I walked out of there & told my Dr & got CT scan done & it turns out not only do I have a collapsed lung but also pnuemonia. DR. Southwell ignoring my Dr.s order could have possibly killed me. He talks fast & mumbles & when you ask him to repeat it he gets very annoyed. BEWARE!
Worst bedside manner of any "doctor" I've ever been to. Did not give me an opportunity to ask anything and when I finally did manage to sneak one in, he acted as though I'd just shot him. Literally. He fell back in his seat and thumped himself against the wall. Now, I'd quit smoking several weeks before I went to see him. After my one appointment with him, I went out and bought a pack of cigarettes and have not stopped smoking since. Awful "doctor." Stay away!
Dr. Southwell was kind of rude, dismissive, and mumbled so much I didn't comprehend most of what he said. He made me feel like I was wasting his time especially when I let him know I was "self pay" and could not afford high priced medication he tried to prescribe. For the nearly $300 I gave him, he could have at least pretended to care. On a side note, it is not my fault my PCP did not diagnose or properly prescribe treatment for "just" asthma. I have been short of breath for more than 6 weeks and it was terrifying. Dr. Southwell did nothing to allay my fears and actually made me feel like a burden.
Wait time was very long
Two of the three times that I’ve been there I Had to wait over an hour. Needless to say I’ll never go back. Call to cancel all my appointments today. After 10 minutes a recording told me I was number eight in line. I must’ve been taking a siesta that time.
I would highly recommend Dr Southwell and his staff. Caring and thorough. He follows up with you when he prescribes a new medication. He is the best pulmonologist I have been to. I know that he has my health and my best interest at heart. I feel very lucky to have him and his staff on my side.
Dr. Southwell charged $465.33 for less than a half hour consultation. No tests were given, it was just conversation to clarify a previous visit. Medicare paid only $123.00. I think charging $465.33 for a short talk is outrageous bordering on criminal.
Maybe somewhat brief with explanations, but his other staff members more than fill in the blanks well. (esp. Kelly) He and staff members, have though been super helpful in assisting me with a whole host of issues I was experiencing. He (Dr Southwell) certainly didn't mess around or delay. I was really surprised at how quickly he got "things" rolling for me. I'd recommend them, esp. for sleep ...
I will be filing this office with the BBB. I never received a bill or received a phone call from this office. I have excellent over 800 credit FICO. They sent me to collections. Never had this experience in my life. Even though I retired and moved away 2 hour drive from my original pulmonologist I will be going back.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
