MIchael Bernui's Online Review Report Card

My name is Jenny Thayer and I have been seeing Dr. Bernui for over 10 years. Treatment for my son began at age 4 as he was diagnosed with Autism. My son was non verbal and suffered from bad gut health, an over growth of yeast and a long list of other ailments. He was very sick and we needed much more than a regular pediatrician could offer. Dr. Bernui and his staff worked tirelessly to help my son heal and to restore the well being of our family. It was overwhelming at first but we saw immediate progress. Dr. Bernui is so knowledgeable and teaches “life style” changes that make all the difference. I hear a few people complain about cost and not being able to afford this type of care. I would have worked 10 jobs to afford for my son to have a better life and better health. My son is 16 now, thriving at a college prep high school, playing sports, making wonderful friendships and living his best life. Now my fiancé and I see Dr. Bernui to restore our health. He is amazing and I owe he and his staff a tremendous debt of gratitude. THANK YOU!!

The most thorough health care I have ever received from a medical professional. A full body approach that heals and restores your well being.

Do yourself a big favor and spend one office visit with Dr. Bernui. It will change your life. Extremely knowledgeable about a full body approach to healing.

The only doctor I know who thinks about his patients. As a doctor myself, he attends more to his patience than anyone else I’ve ever seen.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Bernui and the care he has given to both of my children. Trust is a hard thing to give up when you have complex things happen to your kids. Dr. Bernui found answers and long term solutions. I prayed for help and wow did God deliver. In response to the negative review about cost and only treating the wealthy. I am a single mom and a sped teacher. My car has almost 300,000 miles on it and I’m living with family. I’ve had a tough year, but I’ve made sacrifices to make this work. Dr. Bernui, along with other doctor’s who practice integrative medicine are held hostage by insurance companies. Insurance dictates what doctors can and cannot do. Patients should have a choice in care. So really if you want to one star Dr. B, your frustration is misplaced. Energy should be focused on changing how insurance denies this type of care. Honestly, traditional medicine alone would have cost so much more in my daughter’s case. Something needs to change, but in the meantime I say this doctor is worth everything I’ve paid him and every sacrifice I’ve made to access his care.

I reached out to Dr. Bernui's office because I've been struggling with gastritis for several months and hoped they could help. I stated that I'm a low income person with no insurance hoping that they would offer a sliding scale rate. I was told point blank that the visit would be nearly $700 to speak with his NP and nearly $900 to speak with the doctor. This fee does not include medical testing and will be another near $200 if the appointment goes over. It is wildly unethical to only treat the wealthiest clients, which is clearly what this office is doing.

In March I was in the hospital 3 times in a week both at Summit and Vanderbilt with almost 90 hours of eegs and all kinds of tests ran to get to the bottom of uncontrollable seizures. Onmy last stay, I was diagnosed with psychosomatic seizures, meaning it was all in my head, and perhaps from supressed issues. Knowing this was not true, and feeling hopeless, 15 days later I met with the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. Dr. Bernui listened intently and took notes continually, and asked a considerable amount of questions to get to the bottom of my issues. He never promised immediate fix,but did have a game plan, suspecting at a minimum Lyme Disease. After a 28 day detox accompanied by extensive lab and urine and nutrition tests, Lyme still being treated along with extreme lead contamination, and further follow up of mold toxicity. Although I have met insurance deductible through the traditional medical community, they no longer have my vote for the care of my whole body.

During my last stay, I was diagnosed with psychosomatic seizures, meaning it was all in my head, and perhaps from supressed issues. Knowing this was not true, and feeling hopeless, 15 days later ...

He is money hungry and expect to spend a fortune and not get any better. Also he prescribed several drugs that had major interactions with others. When he realized it a week later (after prescribing this same dangerous combo to someone else), he tried to cover his butt and advised to stop the meds immediately. This is dangerous and negligent. This doctor should not be allowed to practice or to prescribe anything based on my experience and my friend’s experience with him. Don’t br fooled by the “Christian” image that his office tries to show. All they care about is money.

Unprofessional and rude. Also prescribed potentially deadly combo of meds with major interactions and realized it a week later. This guy shouldn’t be allowed to practice medicine.
