List of Barnes Maurice C Md's Reviews
Doctor Barnes and his office staff are, by far, the best I've seen. I am the patient that likes to understand what is going on with her body and likes to understand how medications work. Not very many doctors have patience with lots of questions. IMO: there are two kinds of doctors, the kind that make thier money by seeing as many patients as they can and the kind that make their money by being the best that they can be. Mr. Barnes is the latter of the two. He has done his research. He explained the research behind several medications and I feel better than I ever have. I am now nearly in remission and was put here without steroids (even though I had a severe bout of salmonella poisoning) due to his outstanding care. He takes the appropriate tests and does not do guess work. The ladies in the office are absolutely amazing.
Really a nice Doctor !
I met Dr. Barnes many years ago when he treated both of my parents. He was very kind and helped keep my Mom and Dad with me well into their 80's. They are long gone now and I have been seeing Dr. Barnes myself for several years and he has been nothing short of the best doctor I could wish for. He is great in answering questions and does not rush you when you see him. He recently saved the day when I was in the emergency room and they could not determine my problem. I had my wife call him and within a few hours he found the problem and has me on a treatment program. You will not find a better Gastroenterologist in our area. I highly recommend.
Not helpful at all. Don't care about your health or a solution to your problem.
This office billed my insurance for a procedure that I never had, a Hepatitis C screening. When I disputed it, they told me that I had the procedure. I was referred to this doctor from my PCP regarding my colon...NOT hepatitis!!! Why would I have a screening when I didn't know anything about it and was never told about it while at the doctor's office. I have never had anything like this happen before and hope it doesn't happen again. However, I won't be going back to this doctor again.
Wonderful, kind and a Dr. who actually listens to you and answers any questions you have without rushing you out the door. I also went home with printed information on my procedure and what to expect. I wish Dr. Barnes was a PCP also.
Dr. Barnes has a wonderful dry sense of humor that takes the bite out of any kind of situation. He is easy and unassuming...he listens and asks questions. I've seen him several times and he pulled me out of a very dark place.
Dr. Barnes was told twice that my 84 mother's previous gastroenterologist had warned that she had so much esophageal scar tissue and any stretching would have to be done very gradually. After her procedure, he told the family that he had had to crack the rings around the esophagus to open it fully. At the time, that sounded extreme, but at the time she seemed fine and was discharged. Later that night, she began bleeding profusely and was admitted to the ICU, requiring 13 units of blood.
Great Doctor. Very friendly and kind. Knows his stuff!
Dr. Barnes spends excellent time with patients. He collects all information about what is going on and diagnosis appropriately.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
