He is inflexible and has no personality. His knowledge of diabetes is shallow.

The staff members at the front window have no problem gossiping about patients who call at an audible level. The walls are extremely thin. I could hear every word said in the room next to me. To top it all off there is a jar at the scheduling window that reads 'ashes of problem patients.' It's a very unprofessional environment.

I'vebeen to see dr. guth at least 5 times for my teenage son'. I found him to be a little flippant and rude. My son felt the same way. He also forgot to sign a perscription and my son had to go 3 days with no meds over a weekend. Upon arriving to have it signed, he is quoted as saying, "you could have just signed it for me" which I find unprofessional. I would not have attemped this illegal measure. We are ooking for another doctor.

Dr Guth is a very intelligent physician who I feel is misread by other patients based on the comments viewed. He is an honest physician who doesn't sugar coat if you need to lose weight, need less or no meds, or just need to toughen up. What's wrong with that? I for one love his honesty. Just FYI...the wall is back up b/c the other physician decided to go with a hospital and his nurse who has been there for 10-15yrs is still there.

I have been going to Dr Guth for 20 years. For years I saw the positive things that have been mentioned. Over the last few years I have grown concerned, but continue to go if only to get re-fills on medicine I have taken for many years. The last two times I was there, I noticed they filled the wall back in, he moved to the other side and there were NO, I repeat NO patients in the waiting room when I went in or when I left. The nurse who has been there for 10-15 years was also not there. I was given what I now feel is excuses as to why she wasn't there. When I'm in pain and have been for days because the medicine isn't helping, I don't appreciate hearing "there's nothing more I can do for you". Yes, I too think it's time to find another doctor.

My husband and daughter have both seen him. He was wonderful with my kids. Came in juggling and spoke to my daughter as a person and not a child. (she's 6) He has said something to my husband about his weight, but I think a good doctor should. When my husband lost 30lbs he shook my husbands hand for it. Never once after finding out my husbands occupation did he ever put him down. My family will continue to see him.

My whole family has been with him since 1989. He was very caring and helpful in the beginning, but now seems very flip and callous for a very long time now. I'm changing my pcp this week. When it comes down to it, he really is just a decent pcp if you've got a cold or something mild.

I have enjoyed going to Dr. Guth for the last 16 years. Several of my family members and a some of my friends who I recommended to him love him as well. He has always been very professional and knowledgable. When there was an instance when he was unsure and had to consult with another doctor, he did not hesitate to let us know, which I find admirable. When I bring in my daughters, he is quick to put them at ease and makes things less scary. I'm not saying he and his staff are perfect, but I have not had a horrible experience with them.

My husband went to him quite a few times and one time he went in for arm/wrist pain. He asked what my husband did for a living, which he's a mechanic. He insulted his intelligence and pretty much referred to him a grease monkey. We changed doctors. This incident happened over 4 years ago but I just found out about this site and wanted to voice my opinion.

I went to him for 15 years. I had to ask for every test that was given to me. There never was any type of preventive medicine or a schedule of tests that should be performed as you get older. He never seemed concerned really as my doctor with my health. When I was in my 40's I asked the doctor about having a colonscopy/and checking my proostate and he told me that I did not need testing until age 50. I told him I was having problems and asked that he check my prostrate and found that I had an infection which was causing my inability to urinate. Only after my insistence did he check me. I have a daughter who went to him for a time and she told me he was a quack. Then I had friends who went to a doctor in his adjoining office and told me that I should change doctors. I heard that from about 10 people over a period of about 5 years. So, I changed doctors in December 08. He is an ok doctor for the common colds, flu and etc.
