One year later and STILL receiving a copay bill that was paid 5 TIMES!!!!!! I would rather suffer with psoriasis than deal with this company again! No business is worth this billing NIGHTMARE!!!!!
I am so sad to learn that Dr. O'Connell has retired this year. When exactly did that happen?? I last saw him in early January of this year, 2020 for my annual skin screening. I was very much hoping that he would continue to practice for a couple more years so that I could see him again after the pandemic. I live in Europe, but have come to him for my annual pre-cancer screening in December or January of each year since about 1994. AND his has my medical records for that whole time. I hope that the new medical corporation that has kept those records.Anyway, I am very, very sad to learn of this. Dr. O'Connell was an excellent dermatologist and his staff was so friendly and helpful. I am wondering whether Penny still works in the office?...If there is any way for me to get connected to Dr. O'Connell or Penny, I would be very grateful for that info.
This continues to be the WORST medical experience I have EVER had. Six months after my visit where I PAID my copay, I am continuing to receive bills from the company NOT showing that the copay has been applied. I highly DO NOT recommend this company for the billing process alone. I DO NOT know how MANY times you have to PAY the bill before it is acknowledged. To date, I have paid it 5 TIMES. Save yourself the aggravation and move on. Very disappointing to be hounded for 6 months after payment has been made.
So glad we came here! The doctor was so gentle and through. Fantastic visit for my grandma. She was very nervous at first but the doctor reassured her. All is well skin cancer screening Well it's been 25 days since our appointment. Which we were charged and paid for in office because we don't have insurance. Why are we receiving a bill! It dose reflect any payment we maid in office for her treatment. Now I have to contact the office for a record of our payment back track to see where a miscommunication from office to billing happened. Exactly what I wanted to do on my day off. Thank you office people. I've called the office 4 times no answer only rings one time. I left a voicemail. I'm thinking I'm going to have to drive over there and speak with the lovely office assistant. The doctor is amazing but this really is unprofessional office work.
Dr. O'Connell and his staff are very efficient and friendly. I've been seeing Dr. O for a long time and he's always on top of his game. The staff always send you a reminder in plenty of time and accommodate schedule changes quickly. His offices are clean and well appointed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. O'Connell to friends and family.
The 3 stars are for Dr. O'Connell himself. Actually, he is deserving of a higher rating but my 2 visits with him have cascaded into a billing NIGHTMARE!! To date, I have made multiple insurance co-payments and not a single one has been reflected in the billing statement I received. The billing company rep does not answer the phone and returns calls within 24 hours which does no good when you are not available when and IF she does call. This entire process has been FRUSTRATING beyond belief and all I want to do is PAY my bill.Dr. O'Connell, on the other hand, is VERY professional and kind. His bedside manner is EXCELLENT and he truly is a caring individual. There has been virtually no wait time for each visit and his office is very clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, his office staff has never bothered to verify my insurance copay and have disregarded my words when I have told them the amount owed is actually higher than their requested payment amount. Hence, I was not surprised to see that the balance owed was higher than my original payments. If you want to see a good doctor and don't mind dealing with ongoing billing issues months after your visit, make an appointment.
Office visits are always a positive experience with a well trained and very friendly staff. There is rarely a wait over five minutes because the team is capable of adhering to a schedule.Dr. O'Connell is always prepared with the correct equipment and medicines. He explains the situation in terms you understand and what the treatment is that he recommends.Dr. O'Connell even gives medical advice and directs you to the pharmacy for any medications when you are away.He is always accurate and the cure he proposed seems to solve the problem.
Friendly wonderful staff, professional Doctor. Excellent experience! Thank you so much!
I scheduled the appointment for my grandmother (93 years old). Called in advance to make sure they accept her insurance. We shoe up in the office and they kindly tell us to go home because they don't accept her insurance.... What?? I missed my work, dragged my 93 year old grandmother to her that. Well, I offered to to pay out for the pocket they still refused to see her. This is the first time that doctor refused to accept her insurance.
Hands-down a perfect experience on my first visit. It took longer to fill out the paperwork then it did to get called in the back. After an initial consultation with the Dr., he advised me of the procedure and said he could do it right away. I was in and out in 35 minutes flat. If you're looking for a soothing ambience, super friendly office staff and a professional dermatologist then I would highly recommend Dr. O'Connell's office. This is probably my third or fourth yelp review since most places aren't that worthy of getting a five star review, but I felt it necessary to say that all previous reviews we're absolutely spot on..And to top it off, they have the best candy dish by far! No cheap hard candy here, only the best miniature chocolates that you would get on Halloween.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
