Robert Coles's Online Review Report Card

My fiancé had a routine procedure done by our dermatologist . The wound ended up infected and needed immediate care . Our Primary Care Physician Dr Tyler got us in touch with Dr Cole. We were able to email photos to him so that he could assess the immediate need of the wound until we could return to Los Angeles for an in office visit. We were out of town for a family funeral so we couldn't pack up and go home . It wasn't as emergent needing emergency room attention so Dr Cole evaluated , discussed with our Primary Care Doc and made the decision on prescribing oral antibiotics, topical ointment and wound care directions and follow up immediately when we returned. We ended up having surgery that took all of less than an hour . Dr . Cole called me immediately after the procedure explained and gave status& answered discharge questions I had .for my man. Dr Cole then followed up again later that evening to answer any post op questions since they don't allow extra visitors yet due to covid if the patient can ambulate and is coherent and understands discharge instructions. Everything went so well, The procedure done under twilight left him no post op pain, no discomfort and he's followed all the docs directions for success . We used ice the first night . No opioids were needed, not even tylenol ! We have One more post op follow up and we're good to go. Thanks Dr Cole and your staff for being there for us while out of town, willing to go the extra mile scheduling us and he has a terrific kind and caring bedside Manner . I think there is something in the water in Santa Monica as we seem to find the best of the best doctors hospital and practitioners there .I have another friend who just had several hernias repaired by Dr. Cole and she's doing great too post op. Dr. Cole IS THE MAN!!If I ever need an urgent procedure within Dr Coles realm of practice He is my #1 choice hands down! I highly recommend him. Thanks again Feelin' fine Doc! What a wonderful Doctor experience from walking thru the threshold. You will find Cecilia is thoughtful, helpful, excellent communicator. Doctor Cole has fabulous bedside manner, good listener, sense of humor and most important mindful. I feel lucky to have found him for my very minor procedure.

Dr. Cole was my surgeon last year. Before selecting him, I met two other surgeons. Although my surgery was pretty minor, it still spooked me. He was the only one willing to answer all of my questions, and I had plenty, including explaining what he was going to do and how, what he might find and how he would adjust it, etc. Also, he took me seriously about using twilight, instead of full anesthesia. I was concerned about going under.The night before surgery, Dr. Cole called me at home to make certain I was feeling OK, and then, the next morning, before surgery, he hung out with my girlfriend and me in the surgical room telling a few jokes and just generally making certain I was doing alright. After surgery, he was exactly the same. And each time I visited his office, he and his staff including, Felicia, were exactly the same. They are the friendliest people you can imagine. I have to say that of all the surgeons and physicians I've met, he was among the nicest and most conscientious. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again. All in all: 5 stars!!!

Surgery is a daunting prospect, as we can all attest to. I faced the prospect of surgery after a mishap. Besides the cost, it can obviously impact quality of life. But surgery is like any other profession - there are good surgeons, and there are some not-so-good ones. I actually went to Dr. Cole for a second opinion after a recommendation from a friend. I think *everyone* should get a second opinion, especially when it comes to something as impactful as surgery. Well, I'm glad I did. Dr. Cole gave me the immediate impression that he cared about me as a human being, as the other reviews would suggest. You could probably talk him into a housecall :)Long story short - he recommended that I *not* have surgery, and he was right. I'm absolutely glad I went to go see him.

Judging by all the previous reviews, I would say he has a lot of fans! So I will add my name to the list of patients that were helped by Dr Cole and were fortunate enough to have him as a surgeon. On the first visit he sat down and listened to my concerns and explained the surgery and before I left the office I felt like I was in good hands. He also wanted to have my daughter come in so he could explain everything that he was going to do and answer any questions that she might have had. He was always available to talk to us before and after surgery and the staff was always very welcoming and pleasant also.

Dr Cole is amazing!!!! My mum was having allot of issues medically, he was caring,attentive and knowledgable. Dr. Cole went the extra mile for my mum running results over to the hospital, making sure we had the rite drs on board. Can't recommend him enough!

I was recently operated on twice by Dr Cole. He saved my life with not only surgical expertise but kindness. You can count on him to be there for you like you were his only patient. His approach to patient care the best I've experienced and I'm a Registered Nurse.

I work with doctors on a daily basis. When I needed a hernia operation, I was referred to Dr. Cole by my Endocrinologist who said he would be the best surgeon for me to see in the Los Angeles area. From my first contact with his office staff, I knew that Dr. Cole would be a fantastic doctor. I believe that a great doctor always has a great office staff and this holds true for Dr. Cole. His staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to my needs and concerns. The surgery was scheduled for one week after my initial contact. Everything from my pre-op visit to the surgery to my post op visits was handled in the most courteous and professional manner. I don't think anyone looks forward to having a surgical procedure, but I know that if the need arises again, I will certainly go to my favorite surgeon, Dr. Robert Cole.
