I presented through the ER with acute abdominal bleeding; sufficiently severe that I was given 6 units of blood to keep me alive. Days after I was admitted Dr Niak finally scheduled me for a colonoscopy, prioritising me after her elective patients (her repeat customers?). 24 after the procedure, I heard nothing from her as to results. Wondering to a nurse if this were an acceptable level of care finally resulted in a somewhat informative visit from Dr Niak. Two items became part of my care plan: 1) I was referred to a Dr. Diddah — who was able to do more advanced diagnostics. Dr. Diddah…who was not accepting new patients, was leaving his practice at the end of the month; and 2) I was to receive follow from a lady in Dr Niak’s office. I left three voicemails with no response. The next time I heard from Dr Niak’s office was after I has spoken with another GI doc. She asked me if I had my medical records, or if I knew where they were? Um…no. And still nothing from Niak.

Dr. Naik performed an upper and lower scope on me. She was very informative about what was going to take place. She spoke with my husband after the procedure to give him my results.

Dr. Naik did my colonoscopy 5 years ago and was very thorough. She explains everything and has a very caring nature.

Does not come to ER or do hospital procedures. Strangely seems to prefer unconscious patients to awake ones. Smart but if you have problems you have to see one of her male partners which is not good. Also have to see a Nurse Practitioner and only see Dr. seconds before being put to sleep if you do have a procedure done. She doesn't even speak to you then!

Does not see patients at the local hospitals. Does do endoscopies at hospitals. Does not come to ER to see you. Seems very personable when you see her, but it is distressing that she does not come to the hospital if you have a problem. Did not like having to see Nurse Practitioner before procedure and Dr. Naik talked to my husband, but if she spoke to me, I did not recall anything said. Could not access my procedure results online when I tried to get results that way.

Perforated my small bowel when at Jackson clinic. Had to have emergency surgery at Vanderbilt. Scared to have another gi procedure. Had several major complications more bills, feeding tube complications, kidney complications and continue to have problems. Should be able to give zeros. Janet Dean
