Charles Perkins's Online Review Report Card

I always leave my appointments wth Dr. Perkins feeling well cared for and very well informed. I have great trust in him.

I've had Dr Perkins as my GP for many years. And while I think he is a very good diagnostician and a medical professional who is astute and well informed, I think he has very poor patient-doctor attitude: he is arrogant, condescending, impatient, stubborn, and can be rude and dismissive. He is also quite unpredictable: one day he could be fine and kind, the next - abrupt and angry. He rarely welcomes suggestions and does not tolerate questions and ANY discussions that pertain to the options for treatment. Sometimes being as unprofessional as denying a medicine that has worked before, while insisting on prescribing one that has been documented not to have worked in the past. An then, when the medicine does not work, one has to come back only to get the one that should've been prescribed in the first place. No apologies either.. He seems to have become even less tolerant and more stubborn and often antagonistic since he joined his current practice. It's really too bad....

Dr. Perkins is one of the very best and most knowledgeable physicians who's ever treated me, and this includes the ten years I worked at the Mayo Clinic. He is always thorough and he LISTENS carefully to what I tell him. He does not jump to conclusions, but bases his decisions on imperative information that comes from your tests and/or specific symptoms. He also applies common sense to his medical decisions about my health and pharmaceutical needs. He has a great bedside manner, sympathetic, supportive without being condescending. His treatment suggestions have been "spot on" during the five or six years he has been my physician. Dr. Perkins does not take my insurance, but he is so good that I am more than willing to pay out of pocket for his services and to try to get reimbursed later by my insurance.

Dr. Perkins is knowledgeable, caring, thorough, and an excellent listener. His diagnoses and care have been excellent and he always makes it a point to answer all of your questions. I feel that he cares for his patients as individuals and respects their concerns. I will be very sad when he retires.

dr. perkins is a great doctor. he is smart, informed, respectful and helpful. i pay out of pocket (does not accept my insurance) because I prefer the top-notch care he offers compared to many other internists i have seen over years who are hurried and just seem to want to give you meds.
