By the comments it looks as if this Dr has to sides. Sadly, I ended up with the rude, cold, arrogant side. I've had many hip surgeries, and this night was my first dislocation. The nurses were wonderful, and one even said " He's mean "
Best doctor I ever had, the only CARING doctor. So sorry they don't make them like that any longer! If you ever had to wait for your appointment, I certainly had to, it's because he took his time to listen, care and be compassionate.Thank you Dr. Bloom, I hope you are enjoying you well deserved retirement!Daniela Aldini (previous patient with several auto immune dieseases)
Mr. Bloom is a living representation of those doctors you hear jokes about, where a patient goes in with a minor ailment and comes out with a laundry list of supposed problems that require countless tests and procedures...Expect a simple checkup to take at least an hour or more as you will spend the better part of your visit sitting in a room with your thumb up your ass while Bloom is God-knows-where. Be warned that when he does finally show up, he will proceed to tell you his entire life's story about how he was treated with a polio vaccine in his youth and will prattle on about how passionate he is about vaccination rather than actually discuss why you're there.Keep in mind also that he knows nothing about insurance. If he recommends any tests or procedures, make sure you get in writing the part where he promises your insurance will cover it, because that was my mistake. Turns out none of the procedures he had me undergo were covered by my company's insurance despite him telling me the opposite, and as a result here I am months later trying to pay for both his office visits and the lab work he had me do to find out if I had diabetes (I don't, by the way. Not even prediabetic). As somebody who is living paycheck to paycheck, this is impossible. Irresponsible and negligible. He also has a tendency to do things without your permission, like taking it upon himself to culture blood samples from you for no particular reason other than to add it to your bill. Will also forget crucial information on your lab form, requiring you to repeat the same tests. There's another $90+ right there because "Oh, I forgot."Very quick to declare surgery and assume he knows what's wrong. I had a bump on my neck, an abscess--immediately called it an infected sebaceous cyst and cut me open right there on the spot, during which he felt it necessary to gather the blood and pus on his glove and put it in my face. Turns out it wasn't infected. It wasn't even a sebaceous cyst as there was no sebum. Had to have the wound packed for a week over something that would've otherwise been fine. But he made sure that whole procedure fit on the bill, fret not.In short don't pay this guy a visit. If you do, make sure you have no plans for the rest of the day, get everything in writing, and just say no to everything he recommends that has nothing to do with why you visited him in the first place.
I came from another doctor that I saw for 20 years. I became unsatisfied with my other doctor. So I came to Dr David Bloom from a co-workers recommendation. Best decision of my life. Dr. David is a very laid back Dr. He has a great sense of humor & is very personable. The best thing I like about Dr. D is he will not lie to you to make things easier on him or you. He truly is only there to help you to get better & or take away your problem. He is a straight shooter. So if all your looking for is a quick fix he might not be the doctor your after due to Dr David wants to try to figure out the solution to your problem. With me I was just trying to get refills for my hypertension. First thing Dr. David said to me was tell me about all the medicine I am taking, he is wearing a tie dye shirt that he makes for all his employees. He did it introduce himself so I thought he was one of the nurses. So I tell him the medicine I have been taking for high blood pressure and mind you Dr. David is over weight as I am myself so when he said to the medicine I take, not with that body type I kinda took offense cause I did not know he was my doctor then he left the room. I asked the nurse that greeted me, who was he? She said, that is your doctor. I was blown a way cause he is just a regular man. Doesn't have a ego like most doctors I have experienced In my life. So when he came in I trusted him & followed his advise on my change of the blood pressure medicine & with in 3 days my blood pressure was 120 over 70. It has not been like that for 17 years. My old doctor could not get my blood pressure in that range & kept telling me it's my diet and lack of exercise. The old doctor only increased the same medicine instead of running more test & trying new medicine. I must tell you I read a lot of these yelp reviews by very judgmental people that are not talking about any medical facts. They seem to be character assassinations more than medical facts. Person comes back from lunch sometimes their food is digesting I don't think he would belch intentionally so when I hear people make comments about that. I must say to them grow up. I have been very satisfied with Doctor David James Bloom. I would recommend him to everyone. He is like your neighbor & is a very funny man & has a big heart. He even goes out of his way to work after hours & sometimes will come in on Sunday's this is unheard of. Trust me when I say I have had a number of doctors in my life.16 different Doctors in one surgery. Do try Dr. David James Bloom & I believe you will be very impressed as I was. You must trust in what he suggests & follow through the treatment before you make any judgements about his medical abilities. Best doctor I have ever had. Thank you Dr. David James Bloom for your great service.
I love Dr. Bloom. My family and I have been his patients since 1998. He is my OB/GYN doctor, delivered my youngest son, and he's my kids' physician, he is my parents' physician and a lot of my friends go to him, too. I read the other comments on this web site and that's why I've decided to write this review. I'm sorry that those people didn't have a good experience in his office; they don't know what they're missing. He is a very good doctor, he is compassionate, he is smart and thorough, he answers all your questions in depth and he makes sure you understood the answers, he likes to educate you. He gives you straight forward advice and like my mom always says "you don't do what the doctor does you do what he says". I learned a lot though out the years from him, and about him and his office. HEENT - Make your appointment the first of the morning or the first of the afternoon so you don't have to wait for too long. The reason why you have to wait for him is that he spends a long time with each patient, he doesn't leave the room until the patient understood or talked about all problems, he also sees patients with urgent problems that same day and sometimes his schedule is double booked, so you might have to wait a little to see him, but it's worth it!
Went in to meet him and get a referral to the birthing center. He made me incredibly uncomfortable and basically said he wouldn't write my referral unless I had testing done that I had already opted out of. Patients do have the right to informed consent and the right to make their own health care decisions. I walked out of there and immediately called my insurance company to assign to me a new primary care doctor who is amazing and wrote my referral immediately.
Dr. Bloom is a wonderful doctor, so glad we found him! Very thorough, professional, and quite knowledgeable. A keeper!
I don't even know where to start and have neither the patience or the time.If you want a doctor who spends half his visit with you belching and picking scraps of food out of his smelly beard then here you go.This person should be ashamed to call himself a doctor. I am ashamed to have ever paid him.He will ignore what you say and just order every test in the book. And apparently when you complain of neck pain his plan is to have six x-rays take of your lower back. This would go on for pages if I wanted to detail my two visits with this hack.
Dr. James delivered my son 23 years ago. It was not an easy delivery and Dr. James was so skilled and caring. This is my chance to say THANK YOU...I never forgot you!
Dr. David James is very friendly and you get a sense that he cares about your health when you see him. Often, I do not make it into his office after the exam room to discuss my conditions, but that's b/c there's nothing wrong with my check up.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
