Henry West's Online Review Report Card

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2020. After 16 rounds of chemo I made the difficult decision to have both my breast removed. The surgery went very well within 2 days I was up and around with minimal pain. I highly recommend Dr West!!! He and his staff are excellent. He saved my life and I will forever be grateful!!!!

Dr. West performed surgery on me 10/10/2019 to remove a Desmoid Tumor! Once inside Dr. West encountered a 8 pound tumor which was not visible for the CT scan, we thought a 7 or 8 inches tumor was the task at hand, however a big surprise was enlarged and interwind through my small intestine. No problem for Superman he identified the invader and remove the entire tumor and 12 inches of my small intestine and close me back up with stiches and 25 plus staples. I was released from Roper hospital ready to rock. Dr. West is seasoned and prepared, he ordered an additional CT scan with and without contrast so he can ensure the location of my blood vessels and arteries prior to attacking the invader....Dr. West is the only surgeon that will enter my body for anytime of surgery as long as he is working. I trust him totally. I highly recommend him....He is the BEST

Excellent care by Dr. West. I had esophageal cancer and he saved my life by removing the cancer. He took excellent care of me. Dr. West and his team are top notch. I am so grateful for them.

Dr. West was wonderful, he was professional and made me laugh during my stressful ordeal. He explained everything to me before during and after. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him again & highly recommend him to anyone. He and his nurse are very personal and efficient

I had a perfect hernia surgery experience with Dr. West, from beginning to end. He was courteous, answered my questions, performed a successful surgery, no complaints! I would trust him again!

Technically a great surgeon but has the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. He is arrogant and talks down to you. Like others have said in their reviews doesn’t spend much time with his patients and in my experience doesn’t like to answer questions. He doesn’t have the care and compassion that doctors should have. I will never use him again even though he is technically a good surgeon. I never had the feeling he had my best interest at heart; instead I felt like a number or a car being repaired.

Dr. West is an amazing Doctor that follows up with his patients even after surgery. I am so impressed with his professionalism and level of detail he provided about my options. I highly recommend Dr. West and his staff.

I was a little worried when I first went to see Dr. West last year because I had heard he wasn't personable. I was most pleasantly surprised to find the opposite! Dr. West helped me through an existing wound I had just moved to the area with and unlike other surgeons, he did what he could to avoid yet another round of surgery for me instead of blaming my troubles on my prior doctors and jumping right to the OR. It took some time, but he made a huge difference in what had been a very troublesome, chronic wound and I'd go back to his office in a heartbeat if I ever need a surgeon again. I feel I should also add that the staff at the two offices I've been to we're so incredibly polite, too. They took great care of me when I would have to wait sometimes over an hour for someone to be able to pick me up after my apoinents.

I am writing this because I have noticed that people only write reviews when they have had a negative experience. The satisfied people don't bother. I think Dr West was professional, caring, easy to talk with, gave good explanations, and I was completely satisfied. I would recommend him.

Dr. West told me he was confident all the cancer was removed during the surgery and no chemo or radiation was necessary. 18 months later, cancer has returned and must do chemo, radiation and 2 surgeries to fix my cancer this time.
