Dr Hamm is a Psychiatrist; he prescribes medications. He is not a counselor. As part of your full treatment, I recommend also regular visits with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will spend an hour with you and sort through your problems with you. Dr Hamm could spend a few extra minutes learning about you as a person and what your triggers are, but he does his job and will refer you to LCSW therapeutic services if that's not already part of your regimen. I appreciate and trust his services.

I had a 2 wk bout with anxiety/panic attacks last mo. I was looking for help sorting out past issues (child abuse, death of a spouse, cancer diagnosis, son murdered 3 mo's ago, past anxiety issues with panic attacks). What I got was a 25 min wait, then 5 minutes of a nonchalant detached attitude that was adamant about prescribing more and or stronger meds than I already have. I was just as adamant that I wanted off meds. I was then referred for counseling with someone else and $150 bill.

I felt comfortable speaking with Dr. Hamm. He showed understanding and empathy with a great deal of insight.He changed my medication and now I find my life much improved. I would recommend Dr. Hamm to anyone seeking professional psychiatric help.
